Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors and Immunomodulators for Cancer Immunotherapy: Insights Into Resistance and Therapeutic Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
The schematic diagram illustrates the roles of novel immune checkpoints, immunomodulatory factors, cell death and multimodal technologies in cancer immunotherapy. Abstract Cancer immunotherapy has redefined cancer treatment. However, the molecular and cellular basis of immune evasion and therapeutic resistance remains incompletely understood.

Loss of VMP1 Impairs Tight Junction Recycling and Aggravates Intestinal Barrier Dysfunction in Inflammatory Bowel Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
This study identifies vacuole membrane protein 1 (VMP1) as a critical regulator of intestinal epithelial barrier homeostasis. VMP1 facilitates the recruitment of CORO1C to late endosomes, supporting Retromer‐mediated recycling of the tight junction protein Occludin.

Immune‐Related Polyradiculoneuropathy Associated With Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors: A Comprehensive Case Series

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective Immune‐related polyradiculoneuropathy (irPRN) is a rare but potentially severe neurological adverse event secondary to immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), closely resembling Guillain–Barré syndrome. This study aims to characterize the clinical presentation, neurophysiological findings, therapeutic strategies, and clinical outcomes ...

Macro Habitat‐Based T2‐Weighted MRI Radiomics and Deep Learning Fusion for Predicting Treatment Response and Prognosis After Neoadjuvant Chemoradiotherapy in Locally Advanced Rectal Cancer

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Response to neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NACRT) in locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC) is highly heterogeneous. Reliable pretreatment prediction of tumor regression and prognosis remains an unmet clinical need to optimize personalized management.
