CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Rapid Screening of 300 Pesticide Residues in Commercially Available Vegetable-, Fruit-, and Cereal-Based Baby Foods by Using Amino-Functionalized Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes with QuEChERS and Gas Chromatography-Electrostatic Field Orbitrap High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry

open access: yesJournal of Food Quality
A new method for screening 300 pesticide residues in fruit-, vegetable-, and cereal-based baby foods by an improved QuEChERS purification method based on amino-functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes (NH2-MWCNTs) combined with gas chromatography ...

Analysis of Arsenic Speciation Distribution in Agaric, Shiitake Mushroom, Matsutake and Agrocybe by IC-ICP-MS Method

open access: yesShipin gongye ke-ji
To analyze the speciation distribution of arsenic in agaric, shiitake mushroom, matsutake and agrocybe, the ion chromatography-inductive coupled plasma mass spectrometer (IC-ICP-MS) was used to determine arsenobetaine, dimethyl arsenic, arsenous acid ...

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Two novel real-time PCR assays for Brucella detection: a species-specific multiplex and a genus-level singleplex developed via large-scale whole genome sequencing data analysis

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum
Brucellosis, a reportable zoonosis with significant global economic and public health challenges, is primarily caused by Brucella melitensis, Brucella abortus, and Brucella suis in small ruminants, cattle, and swine, respectively.

Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...

Simultaneous Detection of Seven Alternaria Toxins in Mixed Fruit Puree by Ultra-High-Performance Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry Coupled with a Modified QuEChERS

open access: yesToxins, 2021
The presence of Alternaria toxins (ATs) in fruit purees may cause potential harm to the life and health of consumers. As time passes, ATs have become the key detection objects in this kind of food.

Clinical and Modifiable Factors Associated With Disability and Relapse in MOGAD: A Multicentre Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Factors associated with relapse course and disability in myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody‐associated disease (MOGAD) remain incompletely understood. Objectives To identify clinical and modifiable factors associated with relapse and disability in MOGAD. Methods In this ambispective multicentre cohort study using data from

Pain and Patient‐Reported Physical Function Did Not Differ Among Body Composition Profiles in Patients With Hip Osteoarthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective To explore whether higher body fat and lower lean mass are associated with greater pain and worse patient‐reported physical function in individuals with hip osteoarthritis (OA). A secondary aim was to examine whether pain and patient‐reported physical function differ according to four body composition profiles: high body fat, low lean mass ...
