It is currently not well understood how cells regulate basic properties, e.g., volume and mechanics within dense multicellular environments like tumors. Here, we show that different cell types of cancer and also normal cells largely decrease their nuclear and cellular volumes in emerging cell clusters and that this is partly driven by cell cycle shifts.

Plant‐Derived Melatonin Inhibits Bacterial Virulence via CpxA/R Two‐Component System
Plant‐derived melatonin is sensed by CpxAE48/T51, which inhibits the phosphorylation cascade transmission from CpxAH240 to CpxRD52, resulting in the inhibition of DNA‐binding capacity of CpxR and subsequent T3SS genes expression in Pst DC3000. ABSTRACT In defending against pathogens, plants deploy diverse secondary metabolites and signaling molecules ...

Chronic-moderate ethanol exposure of L(tk-) cells expressing ? 4? 3? GABAA receptors reduces potency of allopregnanolone potentiation of GABA-evoked inward currents: Possible role of PKC [PDF]
Aim: To investigate the effect of chronic-moderate ethanol (CME) treatment upon direct activation and allosteric modulation of GABAA receptors, and to assess the sensitivity of these parameters to PKC inhibition in control and ethanol-treated cells ...

Decreased BOLD Signal Variability in Middle‐Aged and Older Adults on the Autism Spectrum
ABSTRACT Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a lifelong neurodevelopmental disorder. Preliminary evidence suggests an increased risk for early‐onset cognitive and neurological decline in ASD. While brain development in children, adolescents, and young adults with ASD diverges from neurotypical (NT) peers, it remains unclear in older adults with ASD ...
