Gamma delta (γδ) T cells: origin, phenotype, functions
The primary function of γδT cells is to regulate the responses of innate and adaptive immune systems. These cells also play a role in antibacterial, antiviral and antitumor immune responses, regulate inflammation, maintain homeostasis in barrier tissues,

The details of the immunological microenvironment and its clinical implications for pancreatic cancer are still unclear. In this study, we obtained data from public databases, such as the Gene Expression Omnibus, the Cancer Genome Atlas Program, the ...

A protective role of gamma/delta T cells in primary infection with Listeria monocytogenes in mice. [PDF]
We have previously reported that T cells bearing T cell receptors (TCRs) of gamma/delta type appear at a relatively early stage of primary infection with Listeria monocytogenes in mice.

γδTCR regulates production of interleukin-27 by neutrophils and attenuates inflammatory arthritis. [PDF]
γδ T cells have been implicated in inflammatory diseases as an important link between the innate and adaptive immune responses, however, their role in inflammatory arthritis remain unclear.

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Predominant variable region gene usage by gamma/delta T cell receptor-bearing cells in the adult thymus. [PDF]
Previous studies have indicated that the diversity of gamma genes expressed by gamma/delta-bearing murine T cells is limited, but comparable information concerning the expressed diversity of delta genes is lacking. In this study, we have investigated the

Vδ2+ T cell response to malaria correlates with protection from infection but is attenuated with repeated exposure. [PDF]
Vδ2+ γδ T cells are semi-innate T cells that expand markedly following P. falciparum (Pf) infection in naïve adults, but are lost and become dysfunctional among children repeatedly exposed to malaria.

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Human gamma delta T regulatory cells in cancer: fact or fiction?
While gamma delta T cell (γδTc) anticancer immunotherapies are being developed, recent reports suggest a regulatory role for γδTc tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL).

Defective development of gamma/delta T cells in interleukin 7 receptor-deficient mice is due to impaired expression of T cell receptor gamma genes. [PDF]
Mice lacking the interleukin 7 receptor (IL-7R) generate alpha/beta T cells at a detectable but greatly reduced rate, but gamma/delta T cells are completely absent.
