The influence of zoledronate and teriparatide on gamma delta T cells in mice

open access: yesJournal of Dental Sciences, 2017
Background/purpose: Few studies have investigated the possibility that bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ) might reflect an immune response; however, gamma delta T cells have been shown to significantly decline in the blood of BRONJ ...

Gamma-delta T cells in glioblastoma immunotherapy

open access: yesGlioma, 2019
Conventional immunotherapy in the treatment of glioblastoma (GBM) has essentially produced no significant advantage over the use of chemotherapeutic drugs.

Human peripheral CD4+ Vdelta1+ gamma delta T cells can develop into alpha beta T cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2014
The lifelong generation of alpha beta T cells enables us to continuously build immunity against pathogens and malignancies despite the loss of thymic function with age. Consequently, alpha beta T-cell development has to occur independently of the thymus.

γδ T cells in HIV Disease: Past, Present and Future

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2015
Human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV) dysregulates γδ T cells as part of an immune evasion mechanism. Nearly 3 decades of research defined the effects of HIV on γδ T cells and how this impacts disease.

Gamma Delta T Cells (γδ T Cells) in Health and Disease: In Memory of Professor Wendy Havran

open access: yesCells, 2020
Gamma delta (γδ) T cells are a small subset of CD3-positive T cells in the peripheral blood but occur at increased frequency in mucosal tissues [...]

Sheep TRD@ locus consists of a large number of TRDV elements

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2011
The T cell receptor (TcR) expressed on mature T lymphocytes is a disulphidelinked heterodimer composed of alpha and beta or gamma and delta glycoprotein subunits.

Hepatosplenic Gamma/DeltaT-Cell Lymphoma Masquerading as Alcoholic Hepatitis and Methadone Withdrawal

open access: yesCase Reports in Gastroenterology, 2007
Hepatosplenic gamma/delta T-cell lymphoma is a rare neoplasm of mature gamma/delta T-cells with sinusoidal infiltration of spleen, liver, and bone marrow.

Epigenetic modulation of immune synaptic-cytoskeletal networks potentiates γδ T cell-mediated cytotoxicity in lung cancer

open access: yesNature Communications, 2021
Gamma delta (γδ) T cells have potential for use in immunotherapy against tumours. Here, the authors demonstrate that treatment of tumours with DNA methyltransferase inhibitors modulates cytoskeleton arrangements, upregulates adhesion molecules and ...

Multiple receptor-ligand interactions direct tissue resident gamma delta T cell activation

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2014
Gamma delta T cells represent a major T cell population in epithelial tissues, such as skin, intestine, and lung, where they function in maintenance of the epithelium and provide a crucial first line defense against environmental and pathogenic insults.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.
