Protective Effect of LGG From Lophatherum Gracile Brongn. on Alcohol‐Injured HepG2 Cells and Exploration of Potential Mechanism

open access: yeseFood, Volume 7, Issue 2, April 2026.
LGG was separated from L. gracile and its hepatoprotective effect was investigated. LGG significantly reduced the mortality, ROS and MDA content in alcohol‐injured liver cells. LGG up‐regulated 156 mRNAs (63 miRNAs) and down‐regulated 1529 mRNAs (35 miRNAs).

When Pathways Converge: Iron, Lipid Peroxidation, and α‐Synuclein in Ferroptosis‐Driven Dopaminergic Neurodegeneration

open access: yesJournal of Neurochemistry, Volume 170, Issue 4, April 2026.
Dopaminergic neurons are particularly susceptible to ferroptosis. Pacemaking activity–driven calcium (Ca2+) influx increases metabolic demand and reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, promoting iron release from aconitase. Alpha‐synuclein (α‐syn) enhances iron uptake via transferrin receptor 1 (TfR1) and exhibits ferrireductase activity, converting

Time course of ganoderic acids and fungal biomass production of Ganoderma lucidum incubated with aspirin.

open access: yes, 2013
Fungal mycelium was cultured on PDA for 4 days and then incubated with 4 mM aspirin for additional 6 to 48 hr. Fungal biomass (A), accumulation of lanosta-7,9(11), 24-trien-3α-o1-26-oic acid (ganoderic acid 24) (B) and total ganoderic acids (total GAs ...

Chemodiversity, pharmacological activity, and biosynthesis of specialized metabolites from medicinal model fungi Ganoderma lucidum

open access: yesChinese Medicine
Ganoderma lucidum is a precious fungus, particularly valued for its dual use as both medicine and food. Ganoderic acids (GAs), the distinctive triterpenoids found in the Ganoderma genus, exhibit a wide range of pharmacological activities.

Ganoderic Acid A Enhances Glycometabolism in Mouse Gastrocnemius Muscle During Exercise‐Induced Fatigue via AMPK/PGC‐1α Pathway Activation

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
This study investigated the effects of GAA, an active ingredient in Ganoderma lucidum, on exercise‐induced fatigue. GAA effectively enhances exercise performance by improving endurance duration while simultaneously reducing metabolic byproducts and muscle fiber damage.

Modulation of gut microbiota and lipid metabolism in rats fed high-fat diets by Ganoderma lucidum triterpenoids

open access: yesCurrent Research in Food Science, 2023
Ganoderma lucidum triterpenoids (GP) have been reported to help prevent and improve hyperlipidemia. Modulation of the gut microbiota was proposed as underlying factor as well as a novel measure to prevent and treat hyperlipidemia.
