Phase diagram of Josephson junction between s and s+- superconductors in dirty limit
The s+- state in which order parameter has different signs in different bands is a leading candidate for the superconducting state in the iron based superconductors. We investigate a Josephson junction between s and s+- superconductors within microscopic

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Studies of intercellular Ca2+ signaling and gap-junction coupling in the developing cochlea of mouse models affected by congenital hearing loss [PDF]
Connexin 26 (Cx26) and connexin 30 (Cx30) form gap junction channels that allow the intercellular diffusion of the Ca2+ mobilizing second messenger IP3.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Gap junction-mediated regulation of endothelial cellular stiffness
Endothelial monolayers have shown the ability to signal each other through gap junctions. Gap junction-mediated cell-cell interactions have been implicated in the modulation of endothelial cell functions during vascular inflammation.

Quantum Spin Hall and Quantum Anomalous Hall States Realized in Junction Quantum Wells
Both quantum spin Hall and quantum anomalous Hall states are novel states of quantum matter with promising applications. We propose junction quantum wells comprising II-VI, III-V or IV semiconductors as a large class of new materials realizing the ...

Detection of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) in plasma samples from EGFR‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer patients. Plasma was collected before and during treatment with the EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib. Plasma eccDNA was detected in all cancer samples, and the presence of the EGFR gene on eccDNA serves as a potential biomarker ...

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Tunneling assisted p-contact free GaN-InGaN green light-emitting diodes
The effects of bottom tunnel junction (TJ) on optoelectronic characteristics of green light-emitting diodes are analyzed numerically. Our proposed LED has enhanced internal quantum efficiency (IQE), radiative recombination rate, and carrier concentration

Phase dependent current statistics in short-arm Andreev interferometer
We calculate analytically the current statistics for a short diffusive wire between the normal reservoir and a short superconductor-normal metal-superconductor (SNS) junction, at arbitrary applied voltages and temperatures.
