Observation of Multi-Gap Superconductivity in GdO(F)FeAs by Andreev Spectroscopy
We have studied current-voltage characteristics of Andreev contacts in polycrystalline GdO$_{0.88}$F$_{0.12}$FeAs samples with bulk critical temperature ${T_c}$ = (52.5 \pm 1)K using break-junction technique.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Toll-Like Receptor-Mediated Cardiac Injury during Experimental Sepsis
Sepsis is associated with global cardiac dysfunction and with high mortality rate. The development of septic cardiomyopathy is due to complex interactions of damage-associated molecular patters, cytokines, and complement activation products.

Formation of antiwaves in gap-junction-coupled chains of neurons
Using network models consisting of gap junction coupled Wang-Buszaki neurons, we demonstrate that it is possible to obtain not only synchronous activity between neurons but also a variety of constant phase shifts between 0 and \pi.

GABAergic compensation in connexin36 knock-out mice evident during low-magnesium seizure-like event activity [PDF]
Gap junctions within the cerebral cortex may facilitate cortical seizure formation by their ability to synchronize electrical activity. To investigate this, one option is to compare wild-type (WT) animals with those lacking the gene for connexin36 (Cx36 ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Gap acceptance and Driver behavior at intersections in Minna, North Central Nigeria
The headways, spacing distributions and gap acceptance were measured from two main intersections in Minna, Central Nigeria/The average critical gap and spacing for stadium junction are 2.39 seconds and 11.08m respectively, and that of Mustapha hospital ...

Enhanced Specular Andreev reflection in bilayer graphene
Andreev reflection in graphene is special since it can be of two types- retro or specular. Specular Andreev reflection (SAR) dominates when the position of the Fermi energy in graphene is comparable to or smaller than the superconducting gap.
