The antiulcer activity of methanolic extract of Tephrosia purpurea (Fabaceae) aerial parts was investigated in pylorus ligation and ethanol induced ulcer model in wistar rats. Toxicity study sho wed 250 mg/kg as the therapeutic dose and produced significant inhibition of the gastric lesions induced by pylorus ligation and ethanol induced gastric ulcers.
