Bulk Segregant Analysis Reveals Genomic Regions Associated With Imidacloprid Resistance in the Colorado Potato Beetle

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 11, November 2025.
Genomic regions potentially associated with resistance against imidacloprid in the Colorado potato beetle were identified here using bulked segregant analysis. Candidate genes were then narrowed down using the functional annotation and expression analysis.

Time‐Series RNA‐Seq of Acropora tenuis Reveals Molecular Waves Leading to Synchronous Mass Spawning of Scleractinian Corals

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 34, Issue 21, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Although mass, synchronised spawning of scleractinian corals is a well‐known phenomenon, its underlying molecular mechanisms, especially those that achieve synchronous release of gametes, are still unknown. In the genus Acropora, the dominant scleractinian coral in shallow reefs, spawning timing is synchronised in any given location, but often

Effects of Differential Commercial Husbandry Conditions on the Tasmanian Atlantic Salmon Egg Transcriptome

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 5, Issue 5, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Maternally inherited transcripts are crucial for the developmental competence of salmon embryos. Due to the wide variety of broodstock conditioning approaches used in commercial aquaculture, there is a need to understand how dynamic commercial environments impact the egg transcriptome and subsequent quality.

Structural analysis of the Pimelodus maculatus (Lacépède, 1803) embryogenesis (Siluriformes: Pimelodidae)

open access: yesNeotropical Ichthyology
The fish embryonic development comprises the events between the egg fertilization up to larvae hatching, being useful for the identification of viable eggs in productivity and survival studies as well as in raising experiments of several species.

Standardized Bioassays to Better Understand the Invasion Dynamics of the Global Arbovirus Vector Aedes albopictus

open access: yesCurrent Protocols, Volume 5, Issue 10, October 2025.
Abstract The global spread of the arbovirus vector Aedes albopictus has become a major public health concern. In tropical regions, competitive interactions with native species such as Aedes aegypti may have influenced its invasive success. Understanding the bioecological drivers behind its establishment and spread is crucial for informing targeted ...

Electroporation and in vitro culture of early rabbit embryos

open access: yesData in Brief, 2018
The functional interrogation of factors underlying early mammalian development is necessary for the understanding and amelioration of human health conditions. The associated article [1] reports on the molecular characterization of markers of neural crest

A deficiency in SUMOylation activity disrupts multiple pathways leading to neural tube and heart defects in Xenopus embryos

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2019
Background Adenovirus protein, Gam1, triggers the proteolytic destruction of the E1 SUMO-activating enzyme. Microinjection of an empirically determined amount of Gam1 mRNA into one-cell Xenopus embryos can reduce SUMOylation activity to undetectable, but

Regulation of Amphibian Gastrulae with Added Ectoderm1 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Biology, 1938
ABSTRACT If a young Urodele gastrula is cut or constricted into two along the frontal plane, so that the dorsal and ventral halves are separated, the dorsal part contains the whole organization centre but an abnormally small amount of presumptive ectoderm; nevertheless, as Spemann (1903) and Ruud & Spemann (1922) showed, it regulates
