Complete nucleotide sequence of the S10 genome segment of grass carp reovirus (GCRV) [PDF]

open access: yesDiseases of Aquatic Organisms, 2001
Hemorrhagic disease, caused by the grass carp reovirus (GCRV), is one of the major diseases of grass carp in China. Little is known about the structure and function of the gene segments of this reovirus. The S10 genome segment of GCRV was cloned and the complete nucleotide sequence is reported here.

Oral Administration of Bacillus subtilis Subunit Vaccine Significantly Enhances the Immune Protection of Grass Carp against GCRV-II Infection

open access: yesViruses, 2021
Grass carp reovirus (GCRV) is a severe virus that causes great losses to grass carp culture every year, and GCRV-II is the current popular and fatal strain. VP56, fibrin on the outer surface of GCRV-II, mediates cell attachment. In this study, we firstly

HI and CO in the circumstellar environment of the oxygen-rich AGB star RX Lep

open access: yes, 2008
Circumstellar shells around AGB stars are built over long periods of time that may reach several million years. They may therefore be extended over large sizes (~1 pc, possibly more), and different complementary tracers are needed to describe their ...

Galactic Spiral Structure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We describe the structure and composition of six major stellar streams in a population of 20 574 local stars in the New Hipparcos Reduction with known radial velocities. We find that, once fast moving stars are excluded, almost all stars belong to one of

Fish Genomics and Its Application in Disease‐Resistance Breeding

open access: yesReviews in Aquaculture, Volume 17, Issue 1, January 2025.
ABSTRACT Global aquaculture production has been rising for several decades, with up to 76% of the total production from fish. However, the problem of fish diseases is becoming more and more prominent in today's context of pursuing sustainable aquaculture.

Prediction of GCRV virus-host protein interactome based on structural motif-domain interactions [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Bioinformatics, 2017
Grass carp hemorrhagic disease, caused by grass carp reovirus (GCRV), is the most fatal causative agent in grass carp aquaculture. Protein-protein interactions between virus and host are one avenue through which GCRV can trigger infection and induce disease.

Green noise or green value? Measuring the price effects of environmental certification in commercial buildings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This paper investigates the price effects of environmental certification on commercial real estate assets. It is argued that there are likely to be three main drivers of price differences between certified and non-certified buildings.

Genome Manipulation Advances in Selected Aquaculture Organisms

open access: yesReviews in Aquaculture, Volume 17, Issue 1, January 2025.
ABSTRACT With the rising global demand for seafood and the challenges posed by overfishing and climate change, the aquaculture sector has become increasingly important in providing high‐quality protein for human consumption. Although traditional selection breeding programs have made great strides in genetic improvement of aquaculture species over the ...

Reassessing the Role of Nanoparticles in Core Fields of Aquaculture: A Comprehensive Review of Applications and Challenges

open access: yesAquaculture Research, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
The application of nanoparticles (NPs) in aquaculture has emerged as a promising frontier to enhance productivity, sustainability, and environmental stewardship. This comprehensive review explores the integration of NPs across core fields of aquaculture, including nutrition, health management, water treatment, breeding performance, sex manipulation ...

Dynamic localization and the associated translocation mechanism of HMGBs in response to GCRV challenge in CIK cells [PDF]

open access: yesCellular & Molecular Immunology, 2014
High-mobility group box (HMGB) proteins, a family of chromatin-associated nuclear proteins, play amazingly multifaceted roles in the immune system of mammals. Thus far, little is known about the nucleocytoplasmic distribution of HMGBs in teleosts.
