Nucleotide composition and codon usage bias of SRY gene

Andrologia, 2017
The SRY gene is present within the sex-determining region of the Y chromosome which is responsible for maleness in mammals. The nonuniform usage of synonymous codons in the mRNA transcript for encoding a particular amino acid is the codon usage bias (CUB). Analysis of codon usage pattern is important to understand the genetic and molecular organisation

Early transcription of the SRY gene by bovine preimplantation embryos

Molecular Reproduction and Development, 1997
We have examined mRNA expression of two genes located on the Y chromosome, the sex-determining region Y gene (SRY) and the linked zinc finger gene (ZFY), using in vitro fertilized-in vitro cultured bovine embryos. Expression of the SRY gene, implicated in sex determination in mammals, has been reported to occur both for a short time at the sex ...

Report of an XX Male with Hypospadias and Pubertal Gynecomastia, SRY Gene Negative in Blood Leukocytes but SRY Gene Positive in Testicular Cells

Hormone Research, 2008
Most XX male subjects present an anomalous translocation of the sex-determining region of the chromosome Y (SRY) gene from chromosome Y to chromosome X. Several explanations have been proposed for the differentiation of testicular tissue in the absence of the SRY gene.

[The human SRY gene for prenatal diagnosis].

Zhonghua fu chan ke za zhi, 1998
To establish the method for prenatal sex diagnosis of the fetus carrying sex-linked genetic disorder.Human SRY gene was amplified by polymerase chain reaction. A 422-bp male specific fragment was obtained. The fragment was identified in 10 men, but unidentified in 10 women.

[Cloning and sequencing of Sry gene of muntiacus].

Yi chuan = Hereditas, 2005
Using the primers from SRY gene--HMG Box for PCR amplification in genomic DNA of Muntiacus reevesi cell strains, a 220bp fragment was obtained in the male but not in the female. The 220bp fragment was cloned into the pGEM-T vector using T/A clone method. The identified positive clone was sequenced.

[Identification of mutations of SRD5A2 gene and SRY gene in patients with hypospadias].

Zhonghua yi xue yi chuan xue za zhi = Zhonghua yixue yichuanxue zazhi = Chinese journal of medical genetics, 1999
To identify possible molecular mechanism underlined hypospadias and any relationship of the mutations of SRD5A2 gene and SRY gene to hypospadias.Twenty-three blood samples from the patients with hypospadias were obtained from Aug.1996 to Jan. 1998. DNA was extracted from blood leukocytes.

The SRY gene HMG-box in micro- and megabats.

Cytogenetics and cell genetics, 2000
Sex determination in mammals is controlled by the Y-linked SRY gene, which encodes a transcription factor with a DNA-binding motif of the HMG type. The only conserved region in this gene is the HMG-box, whose nucleotide sequence is currently available in a number of mammalian taxa. However, nothing is known about this gene in bats.

[Detection of the SRY gene by primed in situ labeling].

Zhonghua yi xue yi chuan xue za zhi = Zhonghua yixue yichuanxue zazhi = Chinese journal of medical genetics, 2009
To establish a primed in situ labeling (PRINS) technique which can be more effective in detection of single copy gene.On the basis of traditional PRINS, new reagents and procedures, such as TaqStart antibody, four primers of the sex determining region Y (SRY) gene and TSA(TM) Biotin System were included in detection of the SRY gene.
