Spectroscopic Technique-Based Comparative Investigation on the Interaction of Theaflavins with Native and Glycated Human Serum Albumin

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
Theaflavin is a kind of multi-pharmacological and health beneficial black tea factor. The aim of this study is to investigate the mechanisms by which theaflavin interacts with glycosylated and non-glycosylated serum albumins and compares their binding ...

Effect of noise on morphological structure and functions of rat liver

open access: yes环境与职业医学, 2022
BackgroundNoise can cause not only auditory system injury, but also liver damage. However, the biomarkers and pathological mechanism of noise-induced liver injury are not clear yet.

Variability in genes regulating vitamin D metabolism is associated with vitamin D levels in type 2 diabetes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Mortality rate is increased in type 2 diabetes (T2D). Low vitamin D levels are associated with increased mortality risk in T2D. In the general population, genetic variants affecting vitamin D metabolism (DHCR7 rs12785878, CYP2R1 rs10741657, GC rs4588 ...

Complications in Infants of Diabetic Mothers Related to Glycated Albumin and Hemoglobin Levels During Pregnancy

open access: yesPediatrics and Neonatology, 2016
This study was conducted to investigate whether glycated albumin is a useful glycemic marker from the point of view of infant complications for monitoring glycemic control in pregnant women with diabetes or gestational diabetes mellitus.

Optimisation of the enzyme-linked lectin assay for enhanced glycoprotein and glycoconjugate analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Lectin’s are proteins capable of recognising and binding to specific oligosaccharide tructures found on glycoproteins and other biomoloecules. As such they have found tility for glycoanalytical applications.

Glycated Albumin Is a More Useful Glycation Index than HbA1c for Reflecting Renal Tubulopathy in Subjects with Early Diabetic Kidney Disease [PDF]

open access: yesDiabetes & Metabolism Journal, 2018
BackgroundThe aim of this study was to investigate which glycemic parameters better reflect urinary N-acetyl-β-D-glucosaminidase (uNAG) abnormality, a marker for renal tubulopathy, in subjects with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) subjects with ...

Relationship between Protein Oxidation Biomarkers and Uterine Health in Dairy Cows during the Postpartum Period [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
High neutrophil (PMN, Polymorphonuclear neutrophil) counts in the endometrium of cows affected by endometritis, suggests the involvement of oxidative stress (OS) among the causes of impaired fertility. Protein oxidation, in particular, advanced oxidation

Sensitization profiles to purified plant food allergens among pediatric patients with allergy to banana. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Banana fruit allergy is well known, but neither immunoglobulin E recognition patterns to purified plant food allergens nor true prevalences of putative banana allergens have been established. This study aimed to characterize β-1,3-glucanase and thaumatin-

Thyroxine Binding Properties of Glycosylated Bovine Serum Albumin.

open access: yesChemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 1992
Thyroid hormone, thyroxine (T4) binding properties of glycosylated bovine serum albumin (G-BSA), and intact BSA were studied by the fluorescence method. The apparent binding constants for intact BSA were 0.8 (0.16) x 10(6) M-1 at pH 5.0 and 2.18 (0.06) x 10(6) M-1 at pH 9.5 at 25 degrees C.
