Using a Syrian (Golden) Hamster Biological Model for the Evaluation of Recombinant Anthrax Vaccines [PDF]
In this paper, we demonstrate that a Syrian hamster biological model can be applied to the study of recombinant anthrax vaccines. We show that double vaccination with recombinant proteins, such as protective antigen (PA) and fusion protein LF1PA4 ...

Protective effect of coumarin on cell surface glycoconjugates abnormalities during 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene (DMBA) induced oral carcinogenesis [PDF]
Aims: The major aims of the present study was to focus the protective effect of coumarin on cell surface glycoconjugates abnormalities during 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene (DMBA) induced hamster buccal pouch carcinogenesis. Methods: DMBA painting in the

Anticancer and Anti‐Inflammatory Potential of Betalains: A Systematic Review on Preclinical Studies
Betalains derived from diverse natural sources, including beetroot (Beta vulgaris), Opuntia ficus‐indica, yellow prickly pear, and Atriplex hortensis “rubra” leaf and seed extracts, as well as purified betalains (amaranthin, celosianin, betanin, betaxanthins, and related derivatives), exhibit significant anticancer and anti‐inflammatory activities in ...

Thymus and Leishmania at the Crossroads: Autoimmunity and Cancer
Conceptual ‘Crossroads Model’ linking Leishmania, thymic infection and immune dysregulation: an integrative model is proposed in which Leishmania infection disrupts thymic architecture and stromal–thymocyte interactions. These alterations converge to promote defective tolerance, increased autoimmune risk and a microenvironment permissive to malignant ...

Single amino acid substitutions in the global regulator CodY can alter nutrient sensing and virulence regulation in Clostridioides difficile. We show that the CodY(Y146N) and CodY(V58A) variants display altered ligand binding and reduced promoter binding, leading to derepression of toxin regulatory pathways and increased virulence in vivo.
