Dominant antigen of grass carp Reovirus and immunity assessment with DNA vaccine for grass carp

Aquaculture, 2021
Abstract Grass carp reovirus (GCRV), causative agent of grass carp hemorrhagic disease, causes high mortality of grass carp and results in huge economic losses in grass carp farming. Vaccination is considered the most effective way of preventing GCRV infection and losses of grass carp.

Ginsenoside Rg3 inhibits grass carp reovirus replication in grass carp ovarian epithelial cells

Microbial Pathogenesis, 2020
Ginseng exhibits multiple medicinal properties, including the improvement of immune function and enhancing disease resistance. In this study, we investigated the inhibitory effects of ginsenoside Rg3 on grass carp reovirus (GCRV) infection of grass carp ovarian (CO) epithelial cells, in order to provide a baseline framework for future high-efficacy ...

Antigen epitope screening of grass carp reovirus and its protectively immunity assessment for grass carp

Aquaculture, 2020
Abstract Hemorrhagic disease caused by grass carp reovirus (GCRV) is considered to be one of the most serious threats to grass carp, resulting in significant economic loss in aquaculture industry. Currently, vaccination is the most effective method to against GCRV infection and improve the production of grass carp.

Intensive culture of grass carp and hybrid grass carp larvae

Journal of Fish Biology, 1985
Intensive culture of grass carp and hybrid grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella x Aristichthys nobilis) larvae was conducted under Florida (U.S.A.) conditions. The influence of different rearing facilities (indoor tanks, outdoor tanks and cages) and different methods of fish feeding using live zooplankton and artificial food was tested.

Oral vaccination of BacFish-vp6 against grass carp reovirus evoking antibody response in grass carp

Fish and Shellfish Immunology, 2013
To obtain a vaccine and evaluate its immune efficacy as an oral vaccine against Grass Carp Reovirus (GCRV), a donor vector pFastBac-FA-VP6-ph-VP6 containing two GCRV vp6 genes, one driven by the Megalobrama amblycephala β-actin promoter and another one controlled by baculovirus polyhedrin promoter was constructed to generate the recombinant baculovirus

Epidemiology of the Grass Carp Reovirus

2021
Grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) aquaculture accounts for a large share of the freshwater fishery industry in China. However, frequent outbreaks of grass carp hemorrhagic disease (GCHD) caused by the grass carp reovirus (GCRV) infection poses a great threat and causes a tremendous loss to grass carp aquaculture farming almost every year ...

The relationship between feeding preferences and consumption rates in grass carp and grass carp × bighead carp hybrids

Journal of Fish Biology, 1986
The relationship between food preference hierarchy and consumption rate was examined for the grass carp, Ctenopharygodon idella, and its Fl hybrid (grass carp × bighead carp). Preferences of both types of fish were similar, although hybrids consumed vegetation at a much lower rate.
