Green Sand Molding

2008
Abstract Green sand molding and chemically bonded sand molding are considered to be the most basic and widely used mold-making processes. This article describes the sand system formulation, preparation, mulling, mold fabrication, and handling of green sand molds. It lists the advantages and disadvantages of green sand molding.

Effect of sand mold models on the simulated mold restraint force and the contraction of the casting during cooling in green sand molds

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2013
Abstract In this work, the JIS AD12.1 (almost the same as A383.1) aluminum alloy was cast in a green sand mold. The restraint force from the sand mold and the contraction of the casting were measured dynamically from the solidifying temperature to the shake-out temperature using a dedicated device.

In vitro inhibition of postharvest pathogens of fruit and control of gray mold of strawberry and green mold of citrus by aureobasidin A

International Journal of Food Microbiology, 2007
Aureobasidin A (AbA), an antifungal cyclic depsipeptide antibiotic produced by Aureobasidium pullulans R106, has previously been shown to be effective against a wide range of fungi and protozoa. Here we report the inhibitory effects of AbA on spore germination, germ tuber elongation and hyphal growth of five pathogenic fungi including Penicillium ...

Characterization of Particle Packing in an Injected Molded Green Body

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1995
The particle packing structure of alumina green bodies made by injection molding has been examined with the liquid immersion technique coupled with a polarized light microscope. In this method, the specimen is made transparent by an immersion liquid and is examined in the transmission mode. Fine particles of near‐equiaxed alumina powder are found to be

Control of Citrus Green and Blue Molds with Garlic Extracts

European Journal of Plant Pathology, 2003
Water and ethanol extracts of garlic cloves were applied to artificially inoculated citrus fruits to test their efficacy in the control of Penicillium digitatum and P. italicum, the cause of citrus green and blue mold respectively. Extracts were tested either alone, or in combination with vegetable (sunflower) cooking oil or fruit wax at the rate of (0.

The performance of power MOSFET devices encapsulated with green and non-green mold compounds

2008 33rd IEEE/CPMT International Electronics Manufacturing Technology Conference (IEMT), 2008
The green initiative has driven semiconductor manufacturers to eliminate the use of environmentally unfriendly substances such as antimony oxide, flame retardant and halogenated compounds in their microelectronics packages. Nevertheless, there may be concern that the new chemistries in green package may alter the properties of semiconductor devices. We
