Suppression of miR‐145‐5p alleviates DN‐associated renal tissue damage by inhibiting NRF2/SLC7A11‐mediated ferroptosis of RTECs. ABSTRACT Purpose This study aimed to investigate the molecular mechanism by which the miR‐145‐5p/NRF2/SLC7A11 axis regulates ferroptosis‐mediated renal tubular epithelial cell (RTEC) injury in diabetic nephropathy (DN ...

The H19 locus acts in vivo as a tumor suppressor
The H19 locus belongs to a cluster of imprinted genes that is linked to the human Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome. The expression of H19 and its closely associated IGF2 gene is frequently deregulated in some human tumors, such as Wilms' tumors.

ABSTRACT Excess adiposity is not a recently developed problem but has existed since at least the upper Paleolithic, allowing evolutionary selection pressures to adapt the physiology of the pregnant woman and the feto‐placental unit for maternal and fetal protection.

Developmentally regulated functions of the H19 differentially methylated domain
Igf2 and H19 are physically linked imprinted genes. In embryonic liver, their reciprocal expression (paternal for Igf2 and maternal for H19) is controlled by a paternally methylated region (H19 DMD) located 5′ of H19.

Epigenetic lesions at the H19 locus in Wilms' tumour patients
To test the potential role of H19 as a tumour suppressor gene we have examined its expression and DNA methylation in Wilms\u27 tumours (WTs). In most WTs (18/25), H19 RNA was reduced at least 20–fold from fetal kidney levels.

H19 Induces Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Development and Progression
Background: Long noncoding RNAs have emerged as critical molecular regulators in various biological processes and diseases. Here we sought to identify and functionally characterize long noncoding RNAs as potential mediators in ...
