Role of hair papilla cells on induction and regeneration processes of hair follicles
Wound Repair and Regeneration, 1998Hair dermal papilla cells are specialized mesenchymal cells that exist in the dermal papilla located at the bottom of hair follicles. These cells play pivotal roles in hair formation, growth, and cycling. Hair follicle formation is usually directed by an aggregation of dermal mesenchymal cells, the origin of dermal papilla cells, in the embryonic skin.

Hair Cell Regeneration in the Avian
2014When hair cells are once damaged by disease, noise trauma, or aging, hearing loss occurs in a person. Although fish, amphibians, and birds exhibit the ability to grow new hair cells to replace damaged ones, mammals cannot regenerate hair cells by themselves.

Regeneration via transdifferentiation: The lens and hair cells
Hearing Research, 2007Tissue repair and regeneration is mediated by mainly two strategies, the one employing the services of reserve cells and the other via transdifferentiation of already differentiated somatic cells. In this mini-review some issues of transdifferentiation will be presented, especially as they pertain to regeneration and induction of lens and hair cells in

Regeneration of sensory hair cells in mature mammals
Hearing loss and balance dysfunction are commonly caused by the loss of sensory hair cells, the cells which detect sound waves in the auditory organs and head movements in the vestibule. Replacement and regeneration of damaged hair cells occurs naturally in non-mammalian vertebrates such as birds and fish. While a small amount of hair cell regenerationBradley, Walters +2 more
