Ginsenoside Rg3 inhibits melanoma cell proliferation through down-regulation of histone deacetylase 3 (HDAC3) and increase of p53 acetylation.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Malignant melanoma is an aggressive and deadly form of skin cancer, and despite recent advances in available therapies, is still lacking in completely effective treatments. Rg3, a monomer extracted from ginseng roots, has been attempted for the treatment

Repression of Somatic Genes by Selective Recruitment of HDAC3 by BLIMP1 Is Essential for Mouse Primordial Germ Cell Fate Determination

open access: yesCell Reports, 2018
Summary: Primordial germ cells (PGCs) are fate determined from pluripotent epiblasts. Signaling pathways and transcriptional regulators involved in PGC formation have been identified, but detailed molecular mechanisms of PGC fate determination remains ...

Silencing of histone deacetylase 3 suppresses the development of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma through regulation of miR-494-mediated TGIF1

open access: yesCancer Cell International, 2022
Background Deacetylation of histones by histone deacetylase 3 (HDAC3) acts importantly in modulating apoptosis, DNA damage and cellular progression. Herein, we aimed to unravel the functional role of HDAC3 in a lethal disease, esophageal squamous cell ...

Enhancing antitumour response to proteasome inhibitors with inhibitors of insulin‐degrading enzyme, a new molecular vulnerability in multiple myeloma

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Inhibitors of insulin‐degrading enzyme boost PI cytotoxicity through an increased sensitivity of proteasome to PI inhibitors, induction of ISR, DNA damage and Myc down‐regulation. They overcome PI resistance in vitro and induce tumour regression in vivo.

The coactivator role of histone deacetylase 3 in IL-1-signaling involves deacetylation of p65 NF-κB [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Histone deacetylase (HDAC) 3, as a cofactor in co-repressor complexes containing silencing mediator for retinoid or thyroid-hormone receptors (SMRT) and nuclear receptor co-repressor (N-CoR), has been shown to repress gene transcription in a variety of ...

Funktionelle Charakterisierung der SANT-Domänen des Korepressors N-CoR [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003

HDAC3 inhibition prevents blood-brain barrier permeability through Nrf2 activation in type 2 diabetes male mice

open access: yesJournal of Neuroinflammation, 2019
Background Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic metabolic dysfunction characterized by progressive insulin resistance and hyperglycaemia. Increased blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability is a critical neurovascular complication of T2DM that ...

Roles of HDAC3-orchestrated circadian clock gene oscillations in diabetic rats following myocardial ischaemia/reperfusion injury

open access: yesCell Death and Disease, 2021
The circadian clock is closely related to the development of diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease, and disruption of the circadian clock exacerbates myocardial ischaemia/reperfusion injury (MI/RI).

Circadian Epigenomic Remodeling and Hepatic Lipogenesis: Lessons from HDAC3 [PDF]

open access: yesCold Spring Harbor Symposia on Quantitative Biology, 2011
Circadian rhythms have evolved to anticipate metabolic needs across the 24-h light/dark cycle. This is accomplished by circadian expression of metabolic genes orchestrated by transcription factors through chromatin remodeling and histone modifications. Our recent genome-wide study on histone deacetylase 3 (HDAC3) in mouse liver provides novel insights ...
