GPR124 Alleviates Blood–Brain Barrier Disruption by Enhancing Microvascular Endothelial Function after Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our study reveals the protective role of GPR124 in maintaining BBB integrity and promoting neurological recovery following TBI. It makes a significant contribution by uncovering a novel molecular interaction between GPR124 and FGFBP1 and linking this to activation of the Wnt/β‐catenin signaling pathway in vascular repair mechanisms.

Activation of heat-shock transcription factor 1 by hypertonic shock in 3T3 cells [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical Journal, 1996
The exposure of 3T3 cells to a medium made hypertonic by the addition of NaCl induced activation of a heat-shock transcription factor (HSF). This activation, as monitored by gel-mobility-shift assays, occurred within 10 min of hypertonic shock and was dose-dependent in relation to the osmotic strength of the medium up to 0.7 osM.

Redox‐Dependent Chaperoning of GBF1 Condensates Regulates Seed Germination in Arabidopsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In dormant seeds (low ROS), GBF1 forms liquid condensates to repress the germination gene CathB3, and the chaperone GIP1 maintains condensate liquidity and repressive activity. Upon imbibition (high ROS), ROS oxidize GIP1 during germination, impairing its chaperone function.

Effect of the C.–1 388 A>G polymorphism in chicken heat shock transcription factor 3 gene on heat tolerance

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2015
Heat stress is one of the main factors that influence poultry production. Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are known to affect heat tolerance. The formation of HSPs is regulated by heat shock transcription factor 3 (HSF3) in chicken. A DNA pool was established

Heat Shock Factor Is Involved in Regulating the Transcriptional Expression of Two Potential Hsps (AhHsp70 and AhsHsp21) and Its Role in Heat Shock Response of Agasicles hygrophila

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2020
Heat shock proteins are molecular chaperones that are involved in numerous normal cellular processes and stress responses, and heat shock factors are transcriptional activators of heat shock proteins.

FGF13 Deficiency Ameliorates Paclitaxel‐Induced Neuropathic Pain by Inhibiting VASH1‐Mediated Microtubule Detyrosination to Promote Mitophagy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FGF13 is upregulated in DRG neurons of PIPNP model mice. DRG neuron‐specific knockout of FGF13 ameliorates PIPNP symptoms. Mechanistically, FGF13 potentiates microtubule detyrosination by promoting VASH1 binding to microtubules. FGF13 knockout suppresses VASH1‐mediated microtubule detyrosination and promotes α‐tubulin tyrosination.

Reprogramming of the transcriptome after heat stress mediates heat hormesis in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Transient stress experiences not only trigger acute stress responses, but can also have long-lasting effects on cellular functions. In Caenorhabditis elegans, a brief exposure to heat shock during early adulthood extends lifespan and improves stress ...

Sensitivity of Drosophila Heat Shock Transcription Factor to Low pH [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1999
The heat shock transcription factor (HSF) mediates the induction of heat shock gene expression. The activation of HSF involves heat shock-induced trimerization, binding to its cognate DNA sites, and the acquisition of transcriptional competence.

ANKS1B in the Nucleus Accumbens Controls Escalated Cocaine Self‐Administration via Regulating CBP‐FoxO3 Complex

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ANKS1B in the nucleus accumbens plays a critical role in the transition from controlled to escalated cocaine intake. Mechanistically, ANKS1B interacts with CBP to epigenetically suppress FoxO3 through H3K27 acetylation. The ANKS1B‐CBP‐FoxO3 signaling cascade presents a novel theraputic target for the treatment of cocaine addiction.

The heat shock transcription factor HSF-1 protects Caenorhabditis elegans from peroxide stress

open access: yesTranslational Medicine of Aging, 2020
Cells induce conserved defense mechanisms that protect them from oxidative stress. How these defenses are regulated in multicellular organisms is incompletely understood.
