Evolution of hsp70 gene expression: a role for changes in AT-richness within promoters. [PDF]
In disparate organisms adaptation to thermal stress has been linked to changes in the expression of genes encoding heat-shock proteins (Hsp). The underlying genetics, however, remain elusive.

Defining the Essential Function of Yeast Hsf1 Reveals a Compact Transcriptional Program for Maintaining Eukaryotic Proteostasis [PDF]
Despite its eponymous association with the heat shock response, yeast heat shock factor 1 (Hsf1) is essential even at low temperatures. Here we show that engineered nuclear export of Hsf1 results in cytotoxicity associated with massive protein ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

A Novel Approach of Virotherapy Based Hsf-1 Shrna in Cancer Eradication [PDF]
Cancer is the second leading cause of death worldwide with continues rise mortality rate. Current cancer treatment modalities are still ineffective and associated with many side effects leading to robust research to find new specific target therapy. Heat

Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.

Some aspects of heat stress on the plasticity of skeletal muscle cells
Hypertrophic stimuli, such as strength training and exercise, induce the up-regulation of heat shock proteins (HSPs), called stress proteins, in skeletal muscles.

Cooperative Binding of Heat Shock Factor to the Yeast \u3ci\u3eHSP82\u3c/i\u3e Promoter In Vivo and In Vitro [PDF]
revious work has shown that heat shock factor (HSF) plays a central role in remodeling the chromatin structure of the yeastHSP82 promoter via constitutive interactions with its high-affinity binding site, heat shock element 1 (HSE1).

Beating the Heat: A Translation Factor and an RNA Mobilize the Heat Shock Transcription Factor HSF1 [PDF]
Cells respond to stress via orchestrated modifications in gene expression; in a recent publication in Nature, Shamovsky et al. (2006) report that an RNA and a translation factor regulate the activity of a transcriptional activator essential to the mammalian heat shock response.

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

Heat shock transcription factor (Hsf) plays a pivotal role in regulating plant growth, development, and stress responses. Hsf activates or represses target gene transcription by binding to the heat shock element (HSE) of downstream genes.
