Plasma Hemopexin Activity in Pregnancy and Preeclampsia
Plasma hemopexin activity, associated with increased vascular permeability, was evaluated in healthy pregnant and non-pregnant women and in pre-eclamptic women.Hemopexin activity and the hemopexin inhibitor, extracellular ATP, were assayed in plasma from pregnant (n = 10), preeclamptic (n = 9), and non-pregnant women (n = 10) using standard methods ...

Salivary Proteomic Signatures in Pregnant Women With Excessive Gingival Bleeding
ABSTRACT Objective This observational, cross‐sectional, and analytical study aimed to explore the pathophysiological mechanisms of gingivitis in pregnancy by analyzing the salivary proteomic profile according to gingival bleeding status. Materials and Methods Pregnant women at the 27th week of gestation or beyond were categorized into two groups: those

Isolation of feline plasma hemopexin.
Feline hemopexin (Hx) was isolated from serum with the procedure on the modification of Vretblad et al.. Purified Hx had 71, 000 and 74, 000 dalton at 4-30% PAGE, and the solution immunized to rabbit foot pad. After 3 weeks, only one precipitate was observed between feline plasma and antiserum with IEP and Ouchtalony method.

ABSTRACT Neuroinflammaging, a moderate, chronic, and sterile inflammation in the hippocampus, contributes to age‐related cognitive decline. Neuroinflammaging comprises the activation of the nucleotide‐binding domain, leucine‐rich repeat family, and pyrin domain‐containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasomes, and the cyclic GMP‐AMP synthase (cGAS)‐stimulator of ...

Rabbit hemopexin associates with rose bengal producing a hypochromic shift in the absorption spectrum of the dye; the extinction coefficient of the dye bound to heme-saturated hemopexin is approximately 20% lower than that of the dye bound to the apoprotein.

Receptor‐Dependent and ‐Independent Effects of Hemin on Platelet Plasma Membrane Disintegration
Microhemorrhages lead to the release of erythrocytes, which are then degraded and lysed. These hemolyses result in the liberation of free iron‐containing hemin. Hemin induces platelet activation and ferroptosis. Inhibition of GPVI/CLEC‐2 receptor‐mediated ITAM‐signaling inhibits hemin‐induced platelet activation (low hemin concentrations). Deferoxamine,

This study compared milk fat globule membrane protein (MFGMP) with whey protein concentrate (WPC) and micellar casein concentrate (MCC). The results revealed MFGMP's superior structural stability and amino acid profile, identified its unique proteomic landscape through label‐free quantification, and demonstrated its enhanced in vitro digestibility ...
