Lipase-catalysed transesterification of high oleic sunflower oil

Enzyme and Microbial Technology, 2002
The study of enzymatic transesterification of high oleic sunflower oil with butanol by immobilised Lipozyme® was realised in n-hexane and in a solvent-free system. A simplified model, based on the Ping Pong Bi Bi with alcohol competitive inhibition mechanism, was proposed to describe transesterification kinetics.

High oleic sunflower: Physical and chemical characteristics

Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 1986
AbstractTreatment of normal varieties of sunflowerseed with chemical mutagens and development of their progenies have resulted in hydrids bearing oil with oleic acid contents in excess of 80% and linoleic acid contents less than 10%. Fatty acids compositions are unaffected by climatic conditions.

Resistance to Sclerotinia sclerotiorum of 'high oleic' sunflower inbred lines

Plant Breeding, 2005
Cultivation of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) is strongly affected by Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. To identify new sources of genetic diversity for sunflower breeding 25 sunflower inbred lines were analysed using eight Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism (AFLP) primer combinations and their genetic similarities (GS) were estimated.

Oxidative stability of high oleic sunflower and safflower oils

Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 1985
AbstractHigh oleic sunflower seed progenies derived from normal seed by chemical mutagenesis were extracted and their oils refined by standard laboratory procedures. Oxidative stability was related directly to linoleic acid content with an AOM value of 100 hr obtained at 1% linoleate.

Study of possibilities of using high oleic sunflower oil in hard soap production. Report 2. Solid soap on the base of high oleic sunflower oils

Coordination Mechanisms in the Agro-industrial System. The Case of High-Oleic Sunflower

1999
Empirical evidence shows how, even within the agro-industrial system, the relationship between agriculture and the food-processing industry is regulated to a lesser extent on the basis of pure market forms.

New high oleic variety of confectionary sunflower Zhasmin

Oil Crops
Large-seeded early maturing variety of confectionery sunflower Zhasmin (elite number 857) was developed as a part of a breeding and genetic program for obtaining forms with modified fatty acid composition of oil. The high-oleic sunflower variety Kruiz was used as a donor of high oleic content and the confectionery variety Oreshek was used as a ...

Cellulose nano-biocomposites from high oleic sunflower oil-derived thermosets

European Polymer Journal, 2016
Abstract Thiol-Michael addition of pentaerythritol tetrakis(3-mercaptopropionate) (PE3MP) to a high oleic sunflower oil derivative containing enone groups (ETG), has been used to prepare vegetable oil derived renewable thermosets in an efficient way and under mild conditions.

Equilibrium Moisture Characteristics of High Oleic Sunflower Seeds and Kernels

Drying Technology, 2003
Abstract The equilibrium moisture content (EMC) characteristics of high oleic sunflower seeds and kernels between 10 and 55°C were determined by equilibrating the samples to known relative humidities (RH) above saturated salt solutions. EMC of the kernels was lower than that of seeds in the range of 11 to 96% ERH and at 25 and 40°C.

Biochemical Characterization of a High Oleic Acid Mutant from Sunflower

1989
The lipids of normal and a high oleic acid mutant (1) sunflower seeds have been biochemically characterized. “In vivo” and “in vitro” incubations with [1-14C] oleate showed a lack of oleate desaturase activity in developing mutant seeds.
