Abstract Background Cryoprecipitate Anti‐Haemophilic Factor (CRYO‐AHF) is enriched for fibrinogen, VWF, FVIII, FXIII and fibronectin, but has short post‐thaw expiration due to risk of transfusion‐transmitted infection (TTI) limiting availability for rapid treatment.

Mechanism of the inhibition of α‐thrombin by hirudin‐derived fragments hirudin(1–47) and hirudin(45–65) [PDF]
The kinetic mechanism of the inhibition of α‐thrombin by hirudin was analyzed using the hirudin‐derived fragments hirudin(1–47) and hirudin(45–65). Previously, these fragments have been shown to interact with α‐thrombin at distinct sites inhibiting thrombin‐mediated clot formation.

This study develops a biomimetic nanoplatform using erythrocyte membrane‐camouflaged, CD144 antibody‐functionalized nanoparticles to deliver 2‐deoxy‐D‐ribose (2dDR). This system promotes heart valve endothelialization by enhancing endothelial cell migration and proliferation via EGFR activation, while improving hemocompatibility.

eVLP‐Mediated Cas9 Delivery for Preventing IBMIR in Islet Transplantation
Engineered virus‐like particles (eVLPs) are used to deliver Cas9 nuclease to knock out tissue factor (TF) and plasminogen activator inhibitor‐1 (PAI‐1) genes in pancreatic islets. The edited islets maintained viability and function, while reducing instant blood‐mediated inflammatory reaction (IBMIR) markers and improving glycemic control in diabetic ...

Background Testicular compartment syndrome (TCS) is a rare phenomenon with around 14 cases reported in the literature. It occurs when extraluminal compression or increased venous resistance leads to raised intratesticular pressure. The fibrous tunica albuginea covering the testes does not distend, meaning the pressure is not relieved and compartment ...
