A Functionally Conserved Enhancer is Critical for PGC1A Expression and Thermogenesis in Brown Fat
An evolutionarily conserved enhancer controls PGC1A expression and thermogenic activation in brown adipose tissue. Integrative multi‐omics analyses identify two BAT‐specific enhancers, with PGC1A‐En1 functioning as the dominant regulatory element that maintains thermogenic capacity across species.

Histone deacetylase 6 controls Notch3 trafficking and degradation in T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells [PDF]
Several studies have revealed that endosomal sorting controls the steady-state levels of Notch at the cell surface in normal cells and prevents its inappropriate activation in the absence of ligands.

This study reveals the molecular mechanism by which the transcription factor FgSge1 regulates mycotoxin biosynthesis and virulence in Fusarium graminearum. FgSge1 binds to the TAARGTTT cis‐element, enabling self‐activation. It recruits the SAGA complex, promotes histone acetylation, and facilitates jet‐like chromatin remodeling, thereby activating ...

Background: The chromatin remodelers of the SWI/SNF family are critical transcriptional regulators. Recognition of lysine acetylation through a bromodomain (BRD) component is key to SWI/SNF function; in most eukaryotes, this function is attributed to ...

The Friedreich ataxia GAA repeat expansion mutation induces comparable epigenetic changes in human and transgenic mouse brain and heart tissues [PDF]
Friedreich ataxia (FRDA) is caused by a homozygous GAA repeat expansion mutation within intron 1 of the FXN gene, leading to reduced expression of frataxin protein.

Lipids Reprogram Metabolism to Become a Major Carbon Source for Histone Acetylation.
Cells integrate nutrient sensing and metabolism to coordinate proper cellular responses to a particular nutrient source. For example, glucose drives a gene expression program characterized by activating genes involved in its metabolism, in part by ...

Histone acetylation modifiers in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease
It is becoming more evident that histone acetylation, as one of the epigenetic modifications or markers, plays a key role in the etiology of Alzheimer’s disease (AD).

New insights into the epigenetic control of satellite cells [PDF]
Epigenetics finely tunes gene expression at a functional level without modifying the DNA sequence, thereby contributing to the complexity of genomic regulation.

The authors engineer colorectal cancer cells with reduced redundancy of UHRF1 and DNMT1, key DNA methylation maintenance factors, lowering the maintenance threshold and sensitizing cells to inhibition. They develop reporter assays driven by endogenous tumor‐suppressor gene promoters with enhanced sensitivity and dynamic range to demethylating drugs ...
