Histone Deacetylase 3 Is Necessary for Proper Brain Development [PDF]
The functional role of histone deacetylase 3 (HDAC3) in the developing brain has yet to be elucidated. We show that mice lacking HDAC3 in neurons and glia of the central nervous system, Nes-Cre/HDAC3 conditional KO mice, show major abnormalities in the cytoarchitecture of the neocortex and cerebellum and die within 24 h of birth.

High Histone Deacetylase 2/3 Expression in Non-Functioning Pituitary Tumors
Epigenetic modification of chromatin is involved in non-malignant pituitary neoplasia by causing abnormal expression of tumor suppressors and oncogenes.

Histone Epigenetic Signatures in Embryonic Limb Interdigital Cells Fated to Die
During limb formation in vertebrates with free digits, the interdigital mesoderm is eliminated by a massive degeneration process that involves apoptosis and cell senescence. The degradation process is preceded by intense DNA damage in zones located close

Histone deacetylase 6 controls Notch3 trafficking and degradation in T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells [PDF]
Several studies have revealed that endosomal sorting controls the steady-state levels of Notch at the cell surface in normal cells and prevents its inappropriate activation in the absence of ligands.

Histone deacetylase inhibition modulates cell fate decisions during myeloid differentiation
Background The clinical use of chromatin-modulating drugs, such as histone deacetylase inhibitors, for the treatment of bone marrow failure and hematopoietic malignancies has increased dramatically over the last few years.

Histone deacetylase 3 represses HTLV-1 tax transcription
We examined the epigenetic mechanisms involved in human T-cell lymphotropic virus type 1 (HTLV-1) Tax expression. Blockade of histone deacetylation with trichostatin A (TSA) resulted in Tax upregulation. Using a chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) assay, we verified local histone hyperacetylation at the HTLV-1 LTR in response to TSA.

Histone deacetylase inhibitors
The human genome is contained in chromatin, which is a complex macromolecular complex. It is made of DNA, histones and non-histone proteins. The structure of chromatin and the process of its rearrangement regulate the process of transcription, and hence ...

Histone deacetylase 3 gene in hematopoietic stem cells promotes mouse lymphogenesis
Objective To investigate the role of histone deacetylase 3 gene (Hdac3) in hematopoiesis by developing a conditional Hdac3 knockout mice. Methods We crossed the Hdac3floxp/floxp mice with Mx1-Cre mice to generate Hdac3fl/flMx1-Cre mice, and then ...
