SPSB1 Promotes Subcutaneous Adipose Hyperplasia in Facial Port‐Wine Stains by Controlling HDAC1 Degradation and Stability Through Two Distinct Proteolytic Pathways

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In PWS‐ASPCs, FOSL1 drives the expression of SPSB1. SPSB1, as part of the ESC complex, further binds to HDAC1 and promotes K29‐linked and K48‐linked polyubiquitination of HDAC1. These modifications facilitate the degradation of HDAC1 through the ALP and UPS pathways, respectively.

ANGPTL4 Exacerbates Renal Injury in Diabetic Kidney Disease by Impairing Podocyte Lipophagy via Compromised Lysosomal Degradative Function

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In diabetic kidney disease, elevated podocyte ANGPTL4 is linked to reduced TFEB nuclear localization and compromised lysosomal degradative function. These changes impair podocyte lipophagy and promote lipid‐droplet accumulation and podocyte injury, which may contribute to renal injury progression.

Genetic Ablation and Multi‐Omics Profiling Reveal CEP55 as a Key Driver of Tumorigenesis in Diverse Cancer Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Genetic ablation of Cep55 in Pten‐deficient mouse models delays tumorigenesis. Integrated multi‐omics analyses (proteomics, phosphoproteomics, and spatial transcriptomics) reveal that CEP55 regulates oncogenic signaling (RAS/ERK, PI3K/AKT), integrin/FAK‐mediated adhesion, extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling, and endocytosis.

The BAF complex enhances transcription through interaction with H3K56ac in the histone globular domain

open access: yesNature Communications
Histone post-translational modifications play pivotal roles in eukaryotic gene expression. To date, most studies have focused on modifications in unstructured histone N-terminal tail domains and their binding proteins. However, transcriptional regulation

EDNRA Forms a Positive Feedback Loop with the Hippo/YAP Axis to Drive Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Endothelin receptor type A (EDNRA) and the Hippo/YAP pathway form a self‐reinforcing loop that sustains triple‐negative breast cancer. EDNRA activates YAP through Gαq/11–Rho/ROCK–LATS signaling, while YAP/TEAD4 reciprocally drives EDNRA transcription.

Chromatin Packing Domain Engineering Through the Manipulation of Nuclear Cationic States

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Manipulation of intranuclear divalent cation concentrations rapidly and reversibly remodels chromatin packing domains in living cells. Magnesium depletion disrupts domain compaction, heterochromatin organization, and transcriptional regulation, whereas magnesium loading promotes more compact and stable domains.

Recognition of post-translational histone modifications by antibodies and epigenetic reading domains

open access: yes, 2011
Molecular epigenetics is described as the study of heritable changes in gene function without alterations in DNA sequence. Epigenetic phenomena are regulated by three interconnected players: DNA methylation, post-translational histone modifications and ...

Epigenetics: the master switch of nasopharyngeal carcinoma invasion and metastasis

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a metastasis-prone malignancy that is highly prevalent in endemic regions. Epigenetic dysregulation, including aberrant DNA/RNA/protein methylation, histone modifications, and non-coding RNA networks, contributes to NPC ...

Miro1 Protects Against Acute Kidney Injury Through Modulating Mitochondrial Homeostasis via Interaction With Sirt6

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ischemia‐reperfusion reduces Sirt6 activity, thereby increasing Miro1 acetylation. Hyperacetylated Miro1 exhibits perinuclear distribution and degradation, thereby inducing mitochondrial dysfunction and promoting apoptosis in renal tubular epithelial cells. This pathway reveals a mechanistic link between Sirt6‐mediated deacetylation and Miro1 stability

Deciphering the potential role of post-translational modifications of histones in gastrointestinal cancers: a proteomics-based review with therapeutic challenges and opportunities

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
Oncogenesis is a complex and multi-step process, controlled by several factors including epigenetic modifications. It is considered that histone modifications are critical components in the regulation of gene expression, protein functions, and molecular ...
