Holder Pasteurization Inactivates SARS-CoV-2 in Human Breast Milk [PDF]
Abstract SARS-CoV-2 RNA has been detected in the human breast milk of infected mothers, raising concerns regarding the safety of breastfeeding upon infection. We here show that holder pasteurization inactivates SARS-CoV-2 and provides an alternative and safe option for infected mothers to continue feeding breast milk to their infants.

A hidden Markov model and reinforcement learning‐based strategy for fault‐tolerant control
Abstract This study introduces a data‐driven control strategy integrating hidden Markov models (HMM) and reinforcement learning (RL) to achieve resilient, fault‐tolerant operation against persistent disturbances in nonlinear chemical processes. Called hidden Markov model and reinforcement learning (HMMRL), this strategy is evaluated in two case studies

Donor Human Milk: Effects of Storage and Heat Treatment on Oxidative Stress Markers
Mother's own milk is the first choice for the feeding and nutrition of preterm and term newborns. When mother's own milk is unavailable or in short supply donor human milk (DM) could represent a solution.

Ultrasonication and the quality of human milk: variation of power and time of exposure [PDF]
Donor human milk is pasteurized to prevent the potential risk of the transmission of pathogens to preterm infants. Currently, Holder pasteurization (human milk held at 62·5°C for 30 min) is used in most human milk banks, but has the disadvantage that it ...

Necrotrophic growth of periodontopathogens is a novel virulence factor in oral biofilms [PDF]
The oral use of antimicrobial agents embedded in toothpastes and mouth rinses results in an oral microbial massacre with high amounts of dead bacteria in close proximity to few surviving bacteria.
