Exploring the association between rosacea and acne by integrated bioinformatics analysis

open access: yesScientific Reports
Clinically, rosacea occurs frequently in acne patients, which hints the existence of shared signals. However, the connection between the pathophysiology of rosacea and acne are not yet fully understood.

Linking Disulfide Levels and NAD+ Metabolism with Alzheimer’s Disease for Diagnostic Modeling and Target Drug Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Neuroscience
Background: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a condition that affects the nervous system and that requires considerably more in-depth study. Abnormal Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD+) metabolism and disulfide levels have been demonstrated in AD.

Identification and validation of core genes as promising diagnostic signature in hepatocellular carcinoma based on integrated bioinformatics approach

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
The primary objective of this investigation was to determine the hub genes of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) through an in silico approach. In the current context of the increased incidence of liver cancers, this approach could be a useful prognostic ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Identification of Hub Genes With Differential Correlations in Sepsis

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2022
As a multifaceted syndrome, sepsis leads to high risk of death worldwide. It is difficult to be intervened due to insufficient biomarkers and potential targets. The reason is that regulatory mechanisms during sepsis are poorly understood. In this study, expression profiles of sepsis from GSE134347 were integrated to construct gene interaction network ...

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Identification of potential hub genes linked to immune and metabolic alterations in postoperative systemic inflammatory dysregulation

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2023
BackgroundPostoperative systemic inflammatory dysregulation (PSID) is characterised by strongly interlinked immune and metabolic abnormalities. However, the hub genes responsible for the interconnections between these two systemic alterations remain to ...

Hub genes of stroke identified by weighted gene co-expression network analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Abstract Background Microarray-based gene expression profiling has been widely used in biomedical research. Weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) can link microarray data directly to clinical traits and to identify rules for predicting pathological stage and prognosis of disease, it has been found useful in many biological ...
