Interaction of solid organic acids with carbon nanotube field effect transistors [PDF]
A series of solid organic acids were used to p-dope carbon nanotubes. The extent of doping is shown to be dependent on the pKa value of the acids. Highly fluorinated carboxylic acids and sulfonic acids are very effective in shifting the threshold voltage and making carbon nanotube field effect transistors to be more p-type devices.

Elevated cerebrospinal fluid 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid in macaques following early life stress and inverse association with hippocampal volume: preliminary implications for serotonin-related function in mood and anxiety disorders [PDF]
Background: Early life stress (ELS) is cited as a risk for mood and anxiety disorders, potentially through altered serotonin neurotransmission. We examined the effects of ELS, utilizing the variable foraging demand (VFD) macaque model, on adolescent ...

Urinary neurotransmitter metabolites in drug‐free chronic schizophrenic patients measured by gas chromatography selected positive ion monitoring [PDF]
The free urinary metabolites, homovanillic, indoleacetic and 5‐hydroxyindoleacetic acid were measured in 24 h urines obtained from seven highly selected drug‐free chronic schizophrenic patients and seven mentally normal control subjects on a low amine ...

Novel multimetabolite prediction of walnut consumption by a urinary biomarker model in a free-living population: the PREDIMED Study [PDF]
The beneficial impact of walnuts on human health has been attributed to their unique chemical composition. In order to characterize the dietary walnut fingerprinting, spot urine samples from two sets of 195 (training) and 186 (validation) individuals ...

Symmetry Scheme for Amino Acid Codons [PDF]
Group theoretical concepts are invoked in a specific model to explain how only twenty amino acids occur in nature out of a possible sixty four. The methods we use enable us to justify the occurrence of the recently discovered twenty first amino acid selenocysteine, and also enables us to predict the possible existence of two more, as yet undiscovered ...
