Burst suppression electroencephalogram with mushroom poisoning, Amanita pantherina
We report on a patient with Amanita pantherina poisoning who showed a burst suppression pattern on electroencephalography during a comatose state. The patient recovered without sequelae a week after ingestion.

EFFECT OF ELECTROLYTIC AND CHEMICAL LESION BY IBOTENIC ACID OF THE AMYGDALA ON SALT INTAKE
Sodium chloride intake was studied in male Holtzman rats weighing 250-300 g submitted to electrolytic and chemical lesion of the cell bodies, not fibers of the amygdaloid complex.

Heparan Sulfate Mediates Neuroprotection from Degeneration in Experimental Glutaric Aciduria
Glutaric aciduria type 1 (GA1) is a childhood metabolic disorder associated with crises that lead to striatal necrosis. Although the disorder can be controlled with diet, there is no current treatment to ameliorate the neurodegeneration following a ...

Background: Neurotoxic mushroom poisoning often exhibits rapid symptom onset, typically attributed to compounds such as Ibotenic acid, which affect the central nervous system. This study addresses a new case of mushroom-related food poisoning in southern

Opposite turning effects of dainic and ibotenic acid injected in the rat substantia nigra
Unilateral intranigral administration of kainic and ibotenic acid, two putative stimulants of glutamatergic mechanisms, elicited turning behaviour starting from doses of 10 ng.

Neurodevelopmental disruption of cortico-striatal function caused by degeneration of habenula neurons. [PDF]
The habenula plays an important role on cognitive and affective functions by regulating monoamines transmission such as the dopamine and serotonin, such that its dysfunction is thought to underlie a number of psychiatric conditions.

The excitation and depression of spinal neurones by ibotenic acid.
1. The firing of spinal interneurones and Renshaw cells by microelectrophoretic (+/‐)‐ibotenate, which was approximately eight times more active as an excitant than L‐glutamate, was followed by prolonged depression of the sensitivity of the neurones to excitant amino acids and acetylcholine. 2. The depression, which lasted for 15‐‐30 min when ibotenate
