Background Indoleamine 2, 3-dioxygenase-1 (IDO1) is a promising target for immunotherapy in bladder cancer (BC). IDO1 breaks-down tryptophan to generate kynurenine derivatives, which may activate the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR).

Abstract The intestinal microbiome plays a pivotal role in maintaining host health through its involvement in gastrointestinal, immune, and central nervous system (CNS) functions. Recent evidence underscores the bidirectional communication between the microbiota, the gut, and the brain and the impact of this axis on neurological diseases, including ...

Ketogenic diet for infantile epileptic spasms
Abstract Approximately half of all cases of Infantile Epileptic Spasms Syndrome (IESS) do not respond to vigabatrin and hormonal therapies. There is no clear consensus as to the second‐line therapy for IESS. Ketogenic diet (KD) has emerged as an effective treatment for certain drug‐resistant epilepsies and in many cases of IESS.

The genetic architecture of epilepsy across molecular mechanisms and clinical heterogeneity
Abstract Epilepsy comprises a highly heterogeneous group of neurological disorders unified by a persistent predisposition to recurrent seizures, yet driven by remarkably diverse genetic, molecular, and network‐level mechanisms. Advances in genomic technologies have revealed that epilepsy arises from a multilayered genetic architecture encompassing rare

Discovery and Characterisation of Dual Inhibitors of Tryptophan 2,3-Dioxygenase (TDO2) and Indoleamine 2,3-Dioxygenase 1 (IDO1) Using Virtual Screening [PDF]
Cancers express tryptophan catabolising enzymes indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO1) and tryptophan 2,3-dioxygenase (TDO2) to produce immunosuppressive tryptophan metabolites that undermine patients' immune systems, leading to poor disease outcomes. Both

Advances in Immunological Combination Therapy for Colorectal Cancer
Review the progress of combined immunotherapy for colorectal cancer. ABSTRACT Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have been utilized extensively and shown to be therapeutically beneficial in the treatment of solid tumors in recent years. Nonetheless, considerable heterogeneity in Colorectal cancer (CRC) requires careful consideration.
