Optimal attenuation of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis by intravenous immunoglobulin requires an intact interleukin-11 receptor. [PDF]
Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) has been used to treat a variety of autoimmune disorders including multiple sclerosis (MS); however its mechanism of action remains elusive. Recent work has shown that interleukin-11 (IL-11) mRNAs are upregulated by IVIg

Beyond Passive Bystander: Glioblastoma-Educated Astrocyte Suppressing T Cell
Faust Akl et al. revealed in Nature a paradigm-shifting mechanism distinct from myeloid-driven immunosuppression, whereby glioblastoma induces T-cell apoptosis via tumor-derived IL-11, prompting astrocytes to reprogram into immunosuppressive tumor ...

Recombinant Soluble Interleukin-11 (IL-11) Receptor α-Chain Can Act as an IL-11 Antagonist [PDF]
We have expressed a soluble N-glycosylated form of the murine interleukin-11 (IL-11) receptor α-chain (sIL-11R) and examined signaling in cells expressing the gp130 molecule. In the presence of gp130 but not the transmembrane IL-11R, the sIL-11R mediated IL-11–dependent differentiation of M1 leukemic cells and proliferation in Ba/F3 cells.

Targeting IL-11 system as a treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension
IL-11 is linked to fibrotic diseases, but its role in pulmonary hypertension is unclear. We examined IL-11's involvement in idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension (iPAH).

ABSTRACT Primary lung carcinomas and bronchial carcinoid tumors (BC) are very rare malignancies in childhood. While typical BC and mucoepidermoid carcinomas are mostly low‐grade, localized tumors with a more favorable prognosis than in adults, necessitating avoidance of overtreatment, adenocarcinomas of the lung are often diagnosed at advanced disease ...

ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Previous investigations have shown that interleukin-11 (IL-11) and the IL-11 receptor (IL-11R) have been correlated with the regulation of tumor progression, cellular growth and differentiation in several malignant tumors. The objectives of this study were to clarify the role of IL-11 and IL-11Ralpha in human gastric carcinoma.

ABSTRACT Background PIK3CA‐related overgrowth spectrum (PROS) includes several rare overgrowth disorders resulting from somatic gain‐of‐function mutations in PIK3CA. Despite treatment advances, including the recent approval of alpelisib for PROS in the United States, literature detailing the patient experience with PROS is limited.

Previous investigations have shown that interleukin (IL)-11/IL-11 receptor alpha-chain (IL-11Ralpha), a member of the PI3K, MAPK and JAK-STAT activating family of cytokines/receptors, correlates with the regulation of tumor progression. In this study, we established the IL-11/IL-11Ralpha expression profile in human colorectal adenocarcinoma (CRC) and ...

ABSTRACT Background 131I‐metaiodobenzylguanidine (131I‐MIBG) radiotherapy is a key treatment for relapsed and refractory (R/R) neuroblastoma (NB). Patients with R/R disease treated in the modern era are increasingly exposed to anti‐GD2 immunotherapy, which exerts selective pressure and may modify both tumor cell state and microenvironment.
