Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Synthesis of imidazoles promoted by H3PW12O40-amino-functionalized CdFe12O19@SiO2 nanocomposite

open access: yesNanocomposites, 2020
H3PW12O40-amino-functionalized CdFe12O19@SiO2 nanocomposite has been applied as an effective nanocatalyst for the preparation of imidazoles by three-component reactions of benzil, ammonium acetate, and benzaldehydes under solvent-free condition ...

Base-Promoted Annulation of Amidoximes with Alkynes: Simple Access to 2,4-Disubstituted Imidazoles

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
An efficient construction of imidazole ring by a Cs2CO3-promoted annulation of amidoximes with terminal alkynes in DMSO has been developed. This protocol provides a simple synthetic route with high atom-utilization for the synthesis of 2,4-disubstituted ...

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Pharmacokinetics of imidazole antimycotics [PDF]

open access: yesPostgraduate Medical Journal, 1979
Summary According to data on the imidazole antimycotics at present on the market, none of these products satisfactorily fills the gaps which exist in the treatment for mycoses of internal organs, although they have brought considerable progress in the topical treatment of mycoses.
