Spatial omics for profiling the dynamic tumor microenvironment

open access: yesClinical &Translational Immunology, Volume 15, Issue 4, 2026.
Spatially resolved transcriptomics and proteomics map RNA/protein in intact tumor tissues, revealing crucial cancer–immune interactions across the different stages of tumor evolution. Integrating AI promises translational impact, but gaps in cross‐platform integration, standards, compute, validation and interpretability remain.

Synchrotron‐generated microbeams as a radiosurgical alternative for drug‐resistant epilepsies: Proof of concept in a mouse model of mesiotemporal lobe epilepsy

open access: yesEpilepsia, Volume 67, Issue 4, Page 1614-1626, April 2026.
Abstract Objective One‐third of patients with epilepsy, particularly those with mesial temporal lobe epilepsy (MTLE), remain resistant to medication. Resective surgery, the gold standard, is highly invasive and carries significant risks. Here, using a mouse model, we explored the potential of microbeam radiation therapy (MRT), a new technique based on ...

Genomic and Immune Correlates of EZH2 Expression and Activity in Olfactory Neuroblastoma

open access: yesHead &Neck, Volume 48, Issue 4, Page 932-940, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Olfactory neuroblastoma (ONB) is a rare sinonasal malignancy with limited therapeutic options in the recurrent/metastatic setting; little is known regarding its responsiveness to immunotherapy. Inhibition of enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) has been shown to improve T‐cell‐mediated killing and susceptibility to immune checkpoint ...

Integration of circulating tumor DNA profiling in the risk stratification of classical Hodgkin lymphoma in children, adolescents, and young adults

open access: yesHemaSphere, Volume 10, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract This study aimed to define the potential role of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in children, adolescents, and young adults (CAYA) with classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL). This prospective trial was conducted in France between 2019 and 2023 and recruited CAYA patients (≤25 years old) with a new diagnosis of cHL.

Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices Among Sexually Active Individuals Toward Trichomoniasis in the Ashaiman Municipality, Ghana: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Trichomoniasis is a significant public health concern due to its implications for reproductive health and HIV transmission. Despite its prevalence, there is limited understanding of community knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) regarding trichomoniasis in Ghana.

Cancer Neuroscience: Innovative Conception and Emerging Strategy of Therapy

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2026.
In this review, we summarize nerve–cancer interactions and conclude two additional interactions, “perineural invasion” and “neuro‐microbic‐oncology.” Emphasizing the important role of nerves in tumor progression. The nervous system also contributes to the development of cancer comorbidities such as cancer depression and cognitive dysfunction.

Metabolic Alterations in Macrophage Subtypes Propel Immune and Stromal Remodeling in Neurofibroma's Malignant Progression

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2026.
Illustration of the microenvironment factors driving malignant progression in MPNSTs. ABSTRACT Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is characterized by the development of benign plexiform neurofibromas (PNFs). In 10%–15% of patients, these tumors undergo malignant transformation into aggressive malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNSTs).

Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells Profiling Revealed Biomarkers That Predict PD‐1 Inhibitor‐Induced Immune‐Related Adverse Events

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2026.
Prior to treatments, the decreased expression levels of CXCR3 in T cell subpopulations and decreased expression level of CCR6 in NK cell subpopulation sever as predictors of PD‐1 immunotherapy induced immune‐related adverse effects. Increased CXCL9, CXCL10, and CXCL11, three circulating ligands of CXCR3, are related to PD‐1 immunotherapy‐induced immune‐

Disarming the Hsp70–Bim Alliance: Small‐Molecule and Peptidic Disruptors of a Chaperone‐Apoptotic Switch in Cancer

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2026.
Targeting a nucleotide‐sensitive groove on Hsp70 that binds the Bim BH3 helix, we integrate structures, biophysics, and SAR from peptides, fragments, and phenalene‐dicarbonitrile “wedges.” These disrupt the Hsp70–Bim complex with sub‐µM cellular engagement and in vivo activity while sparing Hsp90/mortalin.
