Alpha synuclein and inflammaging

open access: yesHeliyon
The α-synuclein protein is an established molecule in Lewy body pathology, especially Parkinson's disease (PD). While the pathological role of α-synuclein (α-syn) in PD has been well described, novel evidence may suggest that α-syn interacts with inflammasomes in response to aging.

DNA-PK-mediated phosphorylation of STAT6 establishes a non-canonical type 2 immunity axis to prevent macrophage senescence

open access: yesNature Communications
Macrophage senescence drives inflammaging, a chronic, age-related inflammation. To date, the protective mechanisms against inflammaging are poorly defined.

MAM‐STAT3‐Driven Mitochondrial Ca+2 Upregulation Contributes to Immunosenescence in Type A Mandibuloacral Dysplasia Patients

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Individuals with homozygous laminA/C p.R527C mutations manifest a severe form of Mandibuloacral dysplasia‐(MAD) and exhibit overlapping progeroid symptoms, for which the underlying molecular pathology remains unknown.
