A viral CTL escape mutation leading to immunoglobulin-like transcript 4-mediated functional inhibition of myelomonocytic cells [PDF]
Viral mutational escape can reduce or abrogate recognition by the T cell receptor (TCR) of virus-specific CD8+ T cells. However, very little is known about the impact of cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) epitope mutations on interactions between peptide–major

ABSTRACT Background Graft‐versus‐host disease (GvHD) remains one of the most significant complications of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Abatacept, a selective T‐cell costimulation modulator, is a relatively novel prophylactic agent, though pediatric data remain limited.

ABSTRACT Background and Aims Infant bone and soft tissue neoplasms present distinct clinical challenges and lack large‐scale data to inform treatment decisions. This study aims to characterize bone and soft tissue neoplasms in infants in Canada and to compare their outcomes with those of older pediatric patients.

Models for Natural Killer Cell Repertoire Formation
Natural killer (NK) cells lyse only cells that do not express sufficient levels of self class I MHC molecules. Inhibition of lysis is mediated by inhibitory receptors expressed by NK cells, such as the murine Ly49 receptors, that bind to MHC class I ...

The responsiveness of natural killer (NK) cells is controlled by balancing signals from activating and inhibitory receptors. The most important ligands of inhibitory NK cell receptors are the highly polymorphic major histocompatibility complex (MHC ...

ABSTRACT Central nervous system (CNS) relapse of neuroblastoma carries a poor prognosis, and craniospinal irradiation (CSI) poses substantial long‐term toxicity in young children. We report a toddler with MYCN‐amplified neuroblastoma harboring somatic ALK R1275Q who developed extensive leptomeningeal relapse with paraplegia.

A novel soluble immune-type receptor (SITR) in teleost fish: carp SITR is involved in the nitric oxide-mediated response to a protozoan parasite [PDF]
Background- The innate immune system relies upon a wide range of germ-line encoded receptors including a large number of immunoglobulin superfamily (IgSF) receptors.

Activating Receptor Signals Drive Receptor Diversity in Developing Natural Killer Cells.
It has recently been appreciated that NK cells exhibit many features reminiscent of adaptive immune cells. Considerable heterogeneity exists with respect to the ligand specificity of individual NK cells and as such, a subset of NK cells can respond ...

Recombinant glycine receptors: stoichiometry and kinetics [PDF]
Glycine receptors (GlyR) are anion-permeable channels that belong to the pentameric ligand-gated ion channel family. Different GlyR subtypes are known. The main synaptic form is thought to be α1β heteropentamers which mediate fast synaptic inhibition in ...
