Quality of Spontaneous and Backslopped Fermented Cassava Flour From Different Cassava Landraces and Sensory Acceptability of the Cooked Dough

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
The cooked Oko‐iyawo spontaneously fermented cassava flour's sensory acceptability was correlated with its amylose content, pH, pasting temperature, and water absorption capability. Cassava processors may be able to create consistently high‐quality fermented cassava flour for various end users with the use of the information provided in this study ...

Serum, bradykinin and vasopressin stimulate release of inositol phosphates from human fibroblasts

open access: yes, 1984
The mitogens serum, vasopressin and bradykinin stimulate a significant rise in the inositol phosphate content of cultured human fibroblasts within 10 seconds, while serum- and bradykinin-stimulated arachidonic acid release does not occur until after 30 ...

Effects of high‐moisture extrusion processing on reducing anti‐nutritional factors and allergenicity in plant‐based materials—A mini review

open access: yesFood Biomacromolecules, EarlyView.
Abstract The rising demand for plant‐based meat alternatives has had advancements in processing technologies such as extrusion to meet consumer preferences for enhanced sensory qualities and nutritional benefits. High moisture extrusion (HME), a thermo‐mechanical process employing elevated moisture levels (40%–70%), has emerged as a promising method ...

LC‐ICP‐MS analysis of inositol phosphate isomers in soil offers improved sensitivity and fine‐scale mapping of inositol phosphate distribution

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution
Organic forms of phosphorus (P) prevail in soils and their quantification is vital to better understand global biogeochemical cycles. P speciation in soil is commonly assessed by 31P NMR spectroscopy of sodium hydroxide‐EDTA (NaOH‐EDTA) extracts.

Effect of cholecystokinin on the accumulation of inositol phosphates in isolated pancreatic islets

open access: yes, 1989
Sulfated cholecystokinin octapeptide (CCK-8S) potentiated glucose-induced secretion in isolated pancreatic islets with a maximal effect at 12 mM glucose, whereas no effect was observed at 3.3 and 25 mM glucose. This effect of CCK-8S was maximal at 10(-7)

Regulation of Hematopoietic Cell Development and Function Through Phosphoinositides

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2018
One of the most paramount receptor-induced signal transduction mechanisms in hematopoietic cells is production of the lipid second messenger phosphatidylinositol(3,4,5)trisphosphate (PIP3) by class I phosphoinositide 3 kinases (PI3K).

Combining phenotypic, physiological, and multi‐omics studies to provide new insights on the role of 2,4‐epibrassinolide in regulation of seed shattering in Elymus sibiricus L.

open access: yesGrassland Research, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Seed shattering limits the production of Elymus sibiricus L., and application of exogenous brassinosteroid significantly alleviates plant organ abscission. Methods To explore the potential regulatory network of brassinosteroid on seed shattering, the abscission zone of E. sibiricus cv. Lanyu No.
