Studies on soluble carbohydrates in yellow lupin (Lupinus luteus L.) seeds of different age

open access: yesActa Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae, 2011
Yellow lupin seeds cv. Juno were stored under laboratory conditions for 2 month, 4, 6 and 8 years. Eighteen soluble carbohydrates were identified in embryonic axes and cotyledons of different age seeds.

B Cells are Activated via a Nanoporous Interface that Stabilizes Microvilli and Engages Mechanosensitive Ion Channels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
B cells can be activated independently of antigen recognition via mechanical stimulation through nanoporous substrates. Exposure to such substrates induced B cell microvilli extension into the pores, intracellular Ca2+ signaling, phosphorylation of signaling proteins, and CD69 expression.

Influence of inositol on the metabolic profile in women with diabetes and other insulin-resistant conditions

open access: yesРепродуктивная эндокринология
The literature review summarizes the current data on the biological properties of inositols - a natural group of polyols (sugars) classified as cyclohexanols. These compounds are widely represented in food products (cereals, legumes, nuts, seeds, melons,

A Novel Pak1 Activator Ameliorates ER Stress for HFpEF Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chronic metabolic stress is a major contributor to HFpEF progression. Under prolonged metabolic stress, Pak1 activity becomes impaired, contributing to disrupted ER proteostasis, cardiomyocyte apoptosis, fibrosis, and diastolic dysfunction. Mechanistically, Pak1 overexpression activates the ERK1/2–MNK1–eIF4E signaling axis, promotes translational ...

Repurposing a Small Molecule Plant Hormone as a Tunable ON‐Switch for CAR‐T Cell Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By engineering a receptor system integrating the plant auxin receptor AFB1 with its co‐receptor IAA7, we enable ligand‐dependent interactions triggered by the plant hormone auxins. This design allows rapid, reversible, and dose‐dependent T cell activation, resulting in potent cytotoxicity against B‐cell lymphoma in vitro and in vivo.

A Multidimensional Engineering Strategy Reprograms Microglia via Targeted and Sustained‐Release Extracellular Vesicles for Spinal Cord Injury Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional EV‐based nanoplatform (Ang‐TEVs@Gel) was engineered via preconditioning, surface targeting, and ROS‐responsive hydrogel encapsulation to reprogram microglia. This system restored autophagy via miR‐664a‐3p/PIK3CA axis, cleared myelin debris, resolved neuroinflammation, and promoted axon remyelination, ultimately achieving robust motor ...

Metabolism and Ovarian Function in PCOS Women: A Therapeutic Approach with Inositols

open access: yesInternational Journal of Endocrinology, 2016
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is characterized by chronical anovulation and hyperandrogenism which may be present in a different degree of severity. Insulin-resistance and hyperinsulinemia are the main physiopathological basis of this syndrome and the

Indole‐3‐Acetic Acid Protects Bovine Hepatocytes Against Palmitic Acid‐Induced Lipid Accumulation and ER Stress Through SIRT3

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Cows with ketosis during the perinatal period often experience damage to the liver, a core metabolic organ, thereby exacerbating the disease's inherent vicious cycle. This study indicates that serum 3‐IAA concentrations were reduced in ketotic cows and show a significant negative correlation with hepatic TG content.
