THE MEASUREMENT OF INSULIN-LIKE GROWTH FACTOR 1 IN SHEEP PLASMA
Journal of Endocrinology, 1991ABSTRACT A method is described for the radioimmunoassay (RIA) of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) in neutralised formic acid-ethanol extracts of sheep plasma. The ability of the acid-ethanol pretreatment to remove the IGF-1 binding proteins (BPs), which interfere in the assay has been examined.

Research questions concerning insulin-like growth factor-1
Cancer Causes & Control, 2000The Harvard Center for Cancer Prevention (HCCP) convened a workshop on June 4, 1999 in Boston, MA. The objectives of the meeting were to briefly review the current state of knowledge in the area of insulin-like growth factor-1 physiology as related to cancer risk, to define the area's major remaining gaps in knowledge, and lastly to discuss research ...

Insulin- Like Growth Factor-1 as Brain-Body Connector
Insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF1) plays a vital role in the brain and the body, acting to promote growth and repair, as well as aiding neuronal connections and brain states. Its action is modulated by IGF binding proteins (IGFBPs), which regulate its transport and access to its receptor, the type 1 IGF1 receptor (IGF1R).Seraphina, Ho +2 more
