CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 8, Page 1963-1985, August 2026.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Involvement of Ca2+ Activated Cl- Channel Ano6 in Platelet Activation and Apoptosis

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry, 2015
Background/Aims: The ubiquitously expressed Ca2+ Activated Cl- Channel Ano6 participates in the stimulation of cell membrane scrambling. Defective Ano6 underlies the Scott syndrome, an inherited bleeding disorder with impaired scrambling of plasma ...

Cytoplasmic tails of integrin αIIbβ3 in the regulation of integrin activation, cell adhesion and spreading [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Integrins are major adhesion receptors for the extracellular matrix (ECM). This thesis focuses on the motifs and interactions within integrin cytoplasmic tails during integrin-mediated cell adhesion and spreading.

Tropomyosin 1 Promotes Platelet Adhesion and Clot Contraction Separate from Its Roles in Developmental Hematopoiesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 48, 28 August 2026.
ABSTRACT Genome‐wide association studies (GWAS) link the Tropomyosin 1 (Tpm1) locus to quantitative blood trait variation, but related mechanisms are unclear. Tpm1 encodes an actin‐binding protein that regulates actin filament diversity, cell adhesion, signaling, and actomyosin contractility.

Steered molecular dynamics simulation of force triggering the integrin αIIbβ3 extension via its ligand

open access: yes, 2023
Integrin αIIbβ3 expresses on the plasma membrane of platelets, which can be activated by mechanical pulling force from its ligand. Herein, we performed all-atom molecular dynamics (MD) simulations on the full-length integrin embedded in the membrane with

Targeting CD148 for Antithrombotic Therapy: Functional and Molecular Evaluation of AKB‐9778

open access: yesPharmacology Research &Perspectives, Volume 14, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT CD148 is the primary receptor‐type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) regulating platelet activation, and its inhibition has been proposed as a novel anti‐thrombotic strategy with potentially lower bleeding risk than current therapies. However, selective and potent inhibitors of CD148 are currently lacking.

Effect of Bexarotene on Platelet Activation and Apoptosis

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry, 2017
Background/Aims: The retinoid X receptor (RXRs) stimulator Bexarotene ((4-[1-(3,5,5,8,8-pentamethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-2-naphthyl)ethynyl] benzoic acid) is used for the treatment of several malignancies.

Multivalent Bi‐Specific Nanoerythrosomes: A Two‐Birds‐One‐Stone Approach to Combine Homologous and Active Targeting for Effective Thrombolysis

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 47, 21 August 2026.
A multivalent bi‐specific nanoerythrosome (mBiNE@tPA) is developed as a “two‐birds‐one‐stone” platform that simultaneously exploits two principal thrombus components. By integrating erythrocyte membrane‐mediated homologous targeting with cRGD‐based active targeting to activated platelets, mBiNE@tPA achieves enhanced thrombus accumulation, triggered ...

Dominant inheritance of a novel integrin β3 mutation associated with a hereditary macrothrombocytopenia and platelet dysfunction in two Italian families

open access: yesHaematologica, 2009
Background Defects of integrin αIIbβ3 are typical of Glanzmann’s thrombasthenia, an inherited autosomal recessive bleeding disorder characterized by the failure of platelets to aggregate in response to all physiological agonists, but with no ...

Migfilin supports hemostasis and thrombosis through regulating platelet αIIbβ3 outside-in signaling.

open access: yesHaematologica, 2019
Elucidating the regulation mechanism of integrin αIIbβ3 is key to understand platelet biology and thrombotic diseases. Previous in vitro studies have implicated a role of migfilin in the support of platelet αIIbβ3 activation, however, contribution of ...
