Biochemical Analysis of Caspase-8-dependent Proteolysis of IRF3 in Virus-infected Cells
Interferon regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) is a transcription factor, which is critical for the antiviral response against a wide range of viruses (Hiscott, 2007; Ikushima et al., 2013). It gets activated in virus-infected cells via Toll like receptors (TLRs),

The cytosolic viral nucleic acid-sensing pathways converge on the protein kinase TANK-binding kinase 1 (TBK1) and the transcription factor interferon (IFN)-regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) to induce type I IFN production and antiviral immune responses. However,

Interferon (IFN) regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) is the key transcription factor for the induction of IFN and antiviral genes. The absence of antiviral genes in IRF3 deficiency leads to susceptibility to a wide range of viral infections.

Induction of interferon-stimulated genes by IRF3 promotes replication of Toxoplasma gondii.
Innate immunity is the first line of defense against microbial insult. The transcription factor, IRF3, is needed by mammalian cells to mount innate immune responses against many microbes, especially viruses.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.
