D4F‐Functionalized Ceria Nanozyme‐CasRx Platform Suppresses STING and Reprograms the Renal Immune Niche in Acute Kidney Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
D4F‐functionalized ceria nanozyme–CasRx nanoparticles preferentially target renal macrophages through SR‐B1‐mediated uptake in ischemia–reperfusion injury. Ceria scavenges excessive ROS, while CasRx silences STING signaling, shifting macrophages toward a less inflammatory, pro‐resolving state and increasing the proportion of regulatory T cells.

Mitochondrial Homeostasis and Mast Cells in Experimental Hepatic Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury of Rats

open access: yes, 2022
BACKGROUND: Ischemia-reperfusion injury is a histopathological event and is an important cause of morbidity and mortality after hepatobiliary surgery. We aimed to investigate the protective effect of uridine on hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats.

Putative role of ischemic postconditioning in a rat model of limb ischemia and reperfusion: involvement of hypoxia-inducible factor-1? expression

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2014
Hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) is one of the most potent angiogenic growth factors. It improves angiogenesis and tissue perfusion in ischemic skeletal muscle.

Remote Ischemic Post‐Conditioning Preserves the Neurovascular Unit by Brain‐Derived Gas6 That Drives Monocyte‐Derived Macrophage Reprogramming via Axl and Vimentin after SAH

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) triggers monocyte‐derived macrophage (MDM) infiltration and M1‐like polarization via Vimentin upregulation, leading to neurovascular unit disruption and cognitive dysfunction. Remote ischemic postconditioning (RIPostC) upregulates neuronal Gas6, which activates Axl on MDMs to downregulate Vimentin and drive reparative M2 ...

Protecting the ischemic heart : pharmacological protection against myocardial ischemia in rats in vivo and in vitro [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Today in Switzerland approximately 40% of all deaths are due to cardiovascular diseases. More than half of these are due to ischemic heart disease. Among the fatal consequences of ischemic heart disease are life-threatening arrhythmias and myocardial ...

Beneficial effect of pentoxifylline into the testis of rats in an experimental model of unilateral hindlimb ischemia/reperfusion injury

open access: yesInternational Brazilian Journal of Urology, 2015
ObjectiveThe objective of the present study was to investigate the role of pentoxifylline (PTX) on remote testicular injury caused by unilateral hind limb ischemia/reperfusion of rats.Materials and MethodsTwenty healthy male Wistar rats were allocated ...

Muscle fiber viability, a novel method for the fast detection of ischemic muscle injury in rats. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Acute lower extremity ischemia is a limb- and life-threatening clinical problem. Rapid detection of the degree of injury is crucial, however at present there are no exact diagnostic tests available to achieve this purpose. Our goal was to examine a novel

H4K12 Lactylation Regulates NDUFS7 to Drive Microglia Reverse Electron Transport in Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactate accumulation after SCI promotes H4K12la lactylation, which upregulates NDUFS7, triggering mitochondrial RET and ROS, enforcing pro‐inflammatory microglial polarization. MM@mPTC, a biomimetic nanotherapeutic, degrades LDHA in activated microglia, reducing H4K12la lactylation and blocking RET, thus curbing ROS, fostering a reparative phenotype ...

Postconditioning protects against endothelial ischemia-reperfusion injury in the human forearm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Background: Hypoxic cell death follows interruption of blood supply to tissues. Although successful restoration of blood flow is mandatory for salvage of ischemic tissues, reperfusion can paradoxically place tissues at risk of further injury.
