Nitrocyclopropanes as Valuable Building Blocks in Organic Synthesis and Biology: Exploring the Origin of the Nitro Group

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 20, April 4, 2025.
This review summarizes the synthetic methodologies of the nitro‐substituted Donor‐Acceptor cyclopropanes (NCPs). Particularly from nitroalkenes including the Michael Initiated Ring Closure and the Oxidative Ring Closure of Michael Adducts, from Diazo Compounds bearing Nitro Group, from Nitromethane and its Derivatives; and after Oxidation of ...

An unexpected transformation by reduction of isoxazolines

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Chimie, 2012
Abstract Aromatic nitrile oxides undergo regio- and stereo-specific 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions with racemic 5-hydroxy-4-methyl-1,5-dihydropyrrol-2-one derivatives 1 . In each case, a single product 3 results from an anti approach to the hydroxyl group, the oxygen of the 1,3-dipole being attached to C-5 of pyrrolidinones.

Enhanced Photoredox Activity in Nitrogen‐Doped Carbon Nitride for Heterogeneous Nitrogen and Oxygen Radical Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 15, April 17, 2025.
A nitrogen‐doped carbon nitride (NCN) has been synthesized and applied for the sustainable generation of reactive nitrogen and oxygen radicals. The NCN catalyst facilitates radical carboamination, oxyamination, and deoxygenation reactions, as well as the oxidation of boronic acids and alcohols, all under mild photocatalytic conditions.

Dehydrogenative Photoredox Catalyzed Synthesis of Indolyl Δ2‐Isoxazolines via a Formal C(sp3)−H Functionalization

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 28, Issue 12, March 24, 2025.
A dehydrogenative photoredox catalyzed formal C(sp3)‐H intramolecular cyclization of indolyl‐oximes to generate indolyl Δ2‐isoxazolines is reported. In contrast to the current state‐of‐the‐art, the reaction avoids the use of super stoichiometric chemical oxidants and high reaction temperatures and is proposed to operate via two sequential single ...

Effectiveness of sarolaner in the clinical management of furuncular myiasis in dogs naturally infested with Dermatobia hominis (Diptera: Cuterebridae)

open access: yesParasites & Vectors, 2021
Background The human botfly, Dermatobia hominis, is a common cause of furuncular myiasis in dogs in Latin America. Lesions can be single or multiple, each harboring an individual larva, presented as an erythematous nodule that causes pruritus and pain ...
