The jaboticaba (Myrciaria jaboticaba (Vell.) Berg) peel was lyophilized and the proximate composition, total anthocyanins and polyphenolic content were determined. The effect of the freeze-dried jaboticaba peels (FJP) in the plasmatic levels of glucose, lipid fractions, aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) in Wistar adult

Jaboticaba is a native fruit from Brazil, appreciated for its sweet taste and organoleptic characteristics. The propagation of this fruit species occurs exclusively through seeds, which present high germination rates, although with a long period of juvenility, a fact that favors advances in studies aiming at an early fruiting.

Jaboticaba peel and jaboticaba peel aqueous extract shows in vitro and in vivo antioxidant properties in obesity model [PDF]
Abstract This study evaluated the chemical composition of freeze-dried jaboticaba peel (FJP) and jaboticaba peel aqueous extract (JE) and their antioxidant capacity in vitro and in vivo in obesity model. Phenolic compounds, total anthocyanins, flavonoids and antioxidant capacity (DPPH, FRAP, ABTS and ORAC assays) in FJP methanolic extract and JE ...

ABSTRACT Tucum‐do‐Cerrado (Bactris setosa Mart.) is a polyphenol‐rich Brazilian fruit known to improve glucose metabolism. This study investigated its effects on brown (BAT), inguinal (iWAT), and epididymal (eWAT) adipose tissues in a diet‐induced obesity model. Rats received control (CT/TUC‐), high‐fat (HF/TUC‐), control with Tucum‐do‐Cerrado (CT/TUC+)
