Germination Impact in the Nutrition and Technological Properties of Jackfruit Seeds

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Studies, 2020
The objective of this study was the production of flour from germinated jackfruit seeds. The seeds were germinated and dried at temperatures of 55, 65 and 75 °C under air drying speed of 1.0 and 1.3 m s-1. Afterward, the seeds were grounded in order to obtain the flour and characterized for chemical, physical and technological properties.

Development of Starch-Based Bioplastic from Jackfruit Seed

open access: yesAdvances in Polymer Technology, 2022
In this article, jackfruit seed starch plasticized with common plasticizers was developed and characterized. At the first step, the research papers that dealt with the fabrication and characterization of starch-based bioplastics were synthesized and analyzed. Next, jackfruit seeds were selected as a source for starch because of their large availability,

Lipid profile and levels of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids present in jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus) Lam. (Moraceae) seeds and variation in different treatments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The intake of polyunsaturated fatty acids especially omega-3 is projected to be way below the recommended intake in Kenya. Thus, there is need to find other sources of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs).

Biogeographic Disconnect and Biotic Homogenization in the Heart of the Amazon: Dominance of Exotic Species in Urban Trees

open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 58, Issue 5, September 2026.
Exotic taxa dominate the urban woody flora, with potentially invasive species posing a direct risk to adjacent primary forest remnants. Historical management has favored a simplified, cosmopolitan species pool over regional biodiversity. There is failure to implement local native‐priority mandates, offering concrete ecological targets for urban ...
