Solubility of methocarbamol in some cosolvent+water mixtures at 298.15K and correlation with the Jouyban–Acree model

Journal of Molecular Liquids, 2013
Abstract Equilibrium solubility of methocarbamol was determined in binary mixtures of dioxane, polyethylene glycol 400, ethanol, methanol or propylene glycol, and water at 298.15 K. From maximum values in drug solubility and theoretical calculations involving the method proposed by Fedors a discussion was made about the Hildebrand solubility ...

Modeling acid dissociation constant of analytes in binary solvents at various temperatures using Jouyban–Acree model

Thermochimica Acta, 2005
Abstract A mathematical equation, namely Jouyban–Acree model, for calculating apparent acid dissociation constants (pKa) in hydro-organic mixtures with respect to the concentration of organic solvent and temperature is proposed. The correlation ability of the model is evaluated by employing pKa values of 17 different acids in water–cosolvent systems.

Mathematical derivation of the Jouyban-Acree model to represent solute solubility data in mixed solvents at various temperatures

Journal of Molecular Liquids, 2018
Abstract The solubility of a solute is an important physico-chemical property of drugs/chemicals and is highly in demand in the industry. Addition of the second solvent is a common procedure to alter the solubility of drugs. In addition to experimental determination of a solute's solubility, a number of cosolvency models have been proposed to ...

Solubility prediction in non-aqueous binary solvents using a combination of Jouyban-Acree and Abraham models

Fluid Phase Equilibria, 2006
The Abraham solvent equation coefficients and solute's descriptors were used to develop quantitative structure property relationships (QSPR) for calculating the interaction parameters of the Jouyban-Acree model. The applicability of the proposed methods for predicting solubility of five different solutes dissolved in 194 various non-aqueous binary ...

Solubility of sulfapyridine in propylene glycol+water mixtures and correlation with the Jouyban–Acree model

Fluid Phase Equilibria, 2013
Abstract The solubility of sulfapyridine (SP) in propylene glycol + water mixtures was determined at temperatures from 293.15 K to 313.15 K. The solubility was maximal in pure propylene glycol and minimum in pure water at all the temperatures. The thermodynamic functions; Gibbs energy, enthalpy, and entropy of solution were obtained from these ...
