Multifaceted roles of BBX transcription factors: impacts on key agronomical traits and environmental resilience

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 250, Issue 2, Page 762-787, April 2026.
Summary B‐box (BBX) proteins were initially characterized as transcription factors connecting light signaling to the regulation of flowering time and seedling photomorphogenesis. However, over the last decade, increasing evidence has shown that they integrate light and hormone signaling, modulating multiple physiological processes during plant life. In

Runt-Related Transcription Factor 2 Induction During Differentiation of Wharton's Jelly Mesenchymal Stem Cells to Osteoblasts Is Regulated by Jumonji AT-Rich Interactive Domain 1B Histone Demethylase [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Indexación: ScopusNovel bone regeneration approaches aim to obtain immature osteoblasts from somatic stem cells. Umbilical cord Wharton's jelly mesenchymal stem cells (WJ-MSCs) are an ideal source for cell therapy. Hence, the study of mechanisms involved

The Role of One‐Carbon Metabolism in Cancer and Its Therapeutic Significance

open access: yesMedComm – Oncology, Volume 5, Issue 1, March 2026.
One‐Carbon metabolism in T‐cell activation and tumor competition. T‐cell activation shifts metabolic pathways, promoting anabolic metabolism and bioenergetic capacity. One‐carbon metabolism plays a crucial role in histone and DNA methylation in activated T cells.

Finding balance: the dynamic interplay between H3K27me3 writers and erasers in regulating environmental plasticity and memory

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 249, Issue 5, Page 2241-2250, March 2026.
Summary Subject to an ever‐changing world, plants must respond to harmful conditions and environmental fluctuations. Their evolutionary success can be attributed to their plasticity in both perceiving and integrating these variations to facilitate adaptation.

Epigenetic mechanism of abiotic stress responses in plants

open access: yesHorticulture Advances
Abiotic stress severely restricts plant growth, necessitating swift and, at times, heritable reprogramming of gene expression. To regulate chromatin states and fine-tune stress-responsive pathways, plants rely on four key epigenetic mechanisms: DNA ...

Proliferating cell nuclear antigen is required for loading of the SMCX/KMD5C histone demethylase onto chromatin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
UNLABELLED: ABSTRACT: BACKGROUND: Histone methylation is regulated by a large number of histone methyltransferases and demethylases. The recently discovered SMCX/KMD5C demethylase has been shown to remove methyl residues from lysine 4 of histone H3 (H3K4)

The KDM6B/SLC10A2 Axis Suppresses MDSCs Recruitment via ERK/AP‐1 Signaling in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 9, 13 February 2026.
In wild‐type intestinal epithelial cells, KDM6B demethylates SLC10A2 to promote its expression, after which SLC10A2 suppresses ERK phosphorylation, inhibiting AP‐1 (Fos/Jun) transcription and chemokine production. In KDM6B‐deficient intestinal epithelial cells, SLC10A2 methylation increases, and its expression decreases.

Oxidative stress and epigenetic regulation in ageing and age-related diseases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Recent statistics indicate that the human population is ageing rapidly. Healthy, but also diseased, elderly people are increasing. This trend is particularly evident in Western countries, where healthier living conditions and better cures are available ...

Microbial metabolites in tumor epigenetic regulation

open access: yesiMeta, Volume 5, Issue 1, February 2026.
The gut microbiome modulates tumor epigenetic regulation through bioactive metabolites derived from dietary substrates. Microbiota‐produced SCFAs, secondary BAs, one‐carbon metabolites, and tryptophan‐derived ligands regulate histone acetylation, DNA methylation, and chromatin remodeling via HDAC, DNMT, AhR, and metabolic cofactor‐dependent pathways ...

Epigenetics in diagnosis, prognostic assessment and treatment of cancer:An update [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Cancer cells contain multiple genetic and epigenetic changes. The relative specificity of many epigenetic changes for neoplastic cells has allowed the identification of diagnostic, prognostic and predictive biomarkers for a number of solid tumors and ...
