Lab-on-a-chip and integrated strategies in tumor immunotheraphy
Background While conventional chemotherapy and radiation therapy have improved the survival of many cancer patients, there are still major disadvantages associated with these treatments such as high toxicity and drug-resistance.

Stereoselective Accumulation of Propranolol Enantiomers in K562 and K562/ADR Cells
Chirality, 2013ABSTRACTThe stereoselective uptake of propranolol enantiomers was investigated by using the K562 and K562 adriamycin‐resistant cell line (K562/ADR) as a model. An enantioselective RP‐HPLC method was applied to determine the accumulation of propranolol (PPL) stereoisomers in K562 and K562/ADR cells.

Glycophorins of human erythroleukemic K562 cells
Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1987Glycophorins related to alpha glycophorin, of the human erythrocyte membrane, were isolated from human erythroleukemic K562 cells. The glycophorins were purified using sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS)/trichloroacetic acid fractionation and Folch and hot phenol extractions. 0.1-0.2 micrograms was obtained/10(8) cells, or approximately a 15% yield.

K562—A human erythroleukemic cell line
International Journal of Cancer, 1979AbstractWe have studied the surface membrane properties of the human leukemic cell line K562 which previously has been reported to represent an early stage of granulocyte maturation. The surface glycoprotein pattern of the K562 cells obtained after galactose oxidase‐NaB[3H]4 labelling and slab gel electrophoresis shows striking similarities with that ...

Apoptosis inducing effect of meisoindigo on K562 cells
Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine, 1999To study the effect of meisoindigo on human chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) cell line K562 cells for exploring the mechanism of meisoindigo in treatment of CML.Multiple methods, including dose-response curve, trypan blue exclusion, cytomorphology, DNA electrophoresis, flow cytometry and TUNEL (TdT mediated dUTP nick and labeling), were used to ...

Megakaryoblastic differentiation of proerythroblastic K562 cell-line cells
Leukemia Research, 1984The human proerythroblastic leukemia cell-line K562 was induced to differentiate into megakaryocytic cells by 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate (TPA). Megakaryocytic differentiation was detected when lineage-specific monoclonal antibodies were used to monitor the effect of TPA on K562 cells. A monoclonal anti-platelet antibody (C17) directed against

K562/VCR cells, which are resistant to the cytotoxicity of vincristine, were isolated from human erythroleukemia K562 cells. Various compounds that induce erythroid differentiation of K562 cells were tested on K562/VCR cells. Differentiation of K562/VCR cells was not induced by actinomycin D or adriamycin alone, but the resistance of these cells to the

Mechanism of Simvastatin-Induced K562 Cell Apoptosis
Pharmacology, 2009Statins are being widely used for the therapy and prevention of several types of tumors, including human chronic myelogenous leukemia, but the underlying molecular mechanisms still remain unknown. Therefore, inhibition of cell proliferation, apoptosis and involved molecules were investigated in K562 cells after incubation with simvastatin. The results ...

Persistent infection of K562 cells by encephalomyocarditis virus
Journal of Virology, 1990Infection of human erythroleukemic K562 cells by encephalomyocarditis virus readily resulted in establishment of persistently infected cultures. In contrast to the usual typical lytic infection by encephalomyocarditis virus, in which trypan blue staining of cells reaches close to 100% by about 15 h postinfection, K562 cell cultures required 3 to 4 days
