Kanamycin

Kanamycin sulphate (Kannasyn - Bayer) was introduced in Britain in 1959 mainly for use against resistant staphylococci. More recently the manufacturers have re-assessed the drug, and they now advocate it only for infections caused by Gram-negative organisms.
